If he stays I don't think it has any impact on the locker room. Teammates are probably rooting for him the get more. It helps establish the expected market.Love this for us at least...imagine being his teammate? The locker room division and unsettled QB situation is a recipe for disaster. I like our chances week 1 if this keeps up. If anything, it will just put more media attention on our game. Win win
Yeah, bowl games kind of get tacked on to the next year eligibility wise, right? I remember when we played transfers inna bowl game that had had to sit out a season. I think Trishton Jackson was one.Bowls don't count towards the 4 games. Played in 4 games plus the Citrus Bowl.
I disagree. If I'm a backup getting the bare minimum NIL there while busting my butt at practice, while he's deciding to hold out because his 2.5 million isn't enough, then yeah I'd be a little madIf he stays I don't think it has any impact on the locker room. Anyone remember when Michael Jordan made less than $1,000,000 per year?
No way this happens. It’s a plea by the player and administration for a donor/booster to step up and pay him.
Another of the many reasons the NFL is so much more preferable to me. Of course the NCAA dragged it's feet forever and the result is the wild west free for all. The NCAA just dropped the portal and NIL and introduced chaos like the Joker.College sports are just weird now. I keep thinking about that 10 x 10 foot triple I lived in my freshman year at Day. (Which was just fine for this 18 year old).
Then I think about the Lamborghinis nshit the Shedeurs of the world have on campus.
It was a big deal in my day that Derrick Coleman had a brand new Jeep Cherokee. Oh my! The horror.
I’m that old man now.
Yeah. I’d rather have him back a Tennessee with teammates who question his dedication. This kid is trying get as much as he can, and more power to him, but this is the kind of move that gets your butt kicked on the field because your focus isn't on what it needs to be on.
You would be, but you're not a modern college athlete. These guys know the game now. And you don't care so much what the backup QB thinks if the starter stays. What you care about are the other 10 starters he plays with. If they get paid, they don't care. If his negotiating leads to more booster investment that can get spread around, you love him for it.I disagree.
