His speed and power was an unbeatable combination. Foreman was more powerful, but a lumbering oaf compared to Tyson. Ali was quicker, and could have peppered Tyson through a whole fight, but would have been running to avoid Tyson's power, the same he did in the Foreman fights. Ali wouldn't have the power or the chin to go toe to toe with rain in his prime, Tyson had the technical skill to lock Ali down and hurt him.The discipline was over with when Cus D'Amato passed.
I don't think anyone in history beats that era of Mike.
Tyson also had tremendous power with both hands and a variety of punches. His knockouts game with both hands, on hooks, uppercuts and straight punches. Guys would get so hurt from his hooks to the ribs they would stop guarding their face.
Nothing I saw from Ali made me think he could compete with Tyson.
What a shame he lost that discipline and it's an open discussion. In five years, Tyson could have put the question to bed permanently.
