Today, I still can't believe they attempted a field goal down 7 with three minutes left. That's the same thing that Coach P got burned for back in 2000. Bad math - especially the way the game was going. There was nothing in the second half that should have given him confidence that they'd stop Syracuse from scoring again or at least moving the ball down the field... and again, they'd have still needed a td. If your D is pitching a shutout or forcing 3 and outs all half then, yes, that might make sense to set yourself up for the win, I guess, but that was not the case.

Yeah, that's the easiest quick way of thinking it through in the heat of the moment. Don't make the other side happy

Its an easy argument in hindsight. I think every NFL coach kicks a FG there. I suspect analytics says kick the FG. If they went for it and got it, we still would’ve gone down the field and scored. Let’s be honest, if I am the Miami coach, and cuse is in run situation, I’d be confident I could stop it, but they didn’t, and boy am I happy they didn’t.
