That was some goofy $#@$

Another dumb question - who and why in heavens name did our player in the secondary (didn’t see the number) push the Wake player towards the goal line (towards the end of regulation) instead of wrapping him up nor attempt to tackle him thus shoving him about 6 more yards towards the goal?

that was a long ass day today but we got the win which makes these long ass days much sweeter. Started at 9 tailgating and didn't get home until around 8 with only 2 dome dogs consumed today. Good to send the season off on a high note

My son flipped out over that and I usually lie and say c'mon they're trying their best but that time I just shrugged

Just got back to Virginia, but some quick thoughts, might as well jump off from here.

1. Cisco may be a great ball hawk but he’s a huge liability on many plays. There were clearly plays that he just didn’t want to tackle.

2. Place was about half full but credit those there, it was loud. The diehards can bring it when they have to.

3. The game was excruciatingly long. Injuries, replays, including the Taj TD that seemed like it took 20 minutes. That had to be the longest first quarter that didn’t involve someone being carted off.

4. It was my 10 yo son’s first football game in the Dome. As I’m a traveler, it’s usually a friend event. He went thru a wide range of emotions. Excitement early, anger with the refs, anger with us not wanting to tackle. I thought the first and goal at the 1, FG, 75 yard Wake TD when Frederick and Cisco didn’t want to tackle was going to be the end of his fandom. Exhilaration at the end.

5. Since we sit right at the tunnel entrance we had coats in hand on the Wake OT drive. Beating traffic would be ideal because we were staring at a 6 hour drive home. But when the wind blew the other way, we stayed to watch the Alma Mater and cheer the team off the field. We still managed to get from parking spot on Adams/Crouse to I-81 south in under 2 minutes. No traffic at all.

6. Really glad I went and that the seniors got that send off. 5-7 isn’t what anyone wanted but it’s better than the 3-9 that seemed a real possibility. Next year we don’t go in as the ranked team, the chip will be back on our shoulder. I think it will benefit us. There’s a lot to build on and I’m interested to see who becomes the new DC.

LGO!!
You might think you're glad you went but that is only because you didn't know about the trumpy bear commercial. It's one of those turning points in life - there was my old life before trumpy bear and a new one after

we threw one deep ball to him but a bad snap got Welch’s feet messed up and he under threw it by a yard. Riley didn’t play as much on offense because we went with Elmore almost exclusively instead of a slot guy.

You may be talking about this play, but he was the intended receiver on that deep out Clayton threw that was picked off. The ball was thrown behind him, but if he just slowed down and shielded, he might have made a play or avoided the INT. It was almost the same ball that Jackson made the play on later in the game (the throw to Jackson was a little better).

About 90% sure that was Williams. He redeemed himself.

Certainly loud enough when necessary.
The crowd made a lot of noise for how many people were there.

I always love when the opposing offensive line has to tap each other and lean in to get the play or line call.

10 is a good age for kids to start going to sporting events, and really understanding what they're watching, the rules, names of players, etc.

I had the brilliant idea to bring my 4 year old son to MSG last year for UConn, and right when the national anthem ended he asked, "OK is it time to go now?"

Ten year olds are smart enough to know when a game is terrible. Being them younger and they get hooked on otto and snacks

You're right about the length of the game. My mom went to Wyoming so I was watching Wyoming- Air Force on the computer. Granted both of those times run the ball a lot, but They started 90 minutes after us and there was 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter when our 4th quarter ended.

it was only like a bit over 3.5 hrs. the aub/ala game was longer.

We stay every game until the bitter end. And then we stay for the Alma mater. That’s tradition. But yesterday we had a party we were supposed to be at at 4pm...but needed to be there at 5pm. Watching that game drag on, with endless injuries - not enough euthenizations - and interminable time outs, we knew we were in trouble. When WF hit the tying field goal the decision was made for us. We said goodbye to our usher friend and started an embarrassed walk/run out of the Dome, hoping to get to our car before the outcome was determined. But when we arrived at the car, the radio station was already on commercials and we had to wait for what seemed like an eternity to get the final score. We spent the next ten minutes trying to figure out how SU ended up winning by 9. Hated missing that ending and the seniors’ send off.

But what a game!

We have Gene Simmons at qb with a potato arm and of course we throw three times in ot

Then our secondary that doesn't even try to tackle gets rewarded for doing everything the wrong way

Then instead of ending the game he keeps running

Lynch barf

Refs barf

Five hour game barf

You just shake your head and laugh at the end

Good comedy in the game thread. Going to settle down with my Trump bear, always settles me down
I think you should coach barf everything except you barf barf

game started about 12:40 ended at 4:15 or so? it was before 430 wasnt it?

It was about 3:45, but even if you were right, saying it was just over 3:30 and was shorter than Auburn-Alabama isn’t very convincing.

Too many replays, too many TV timeouts.

The 3rd quarter was the longest qtr in the history of football.

not saying it dragged but thats on the refs.

2 end of halves..

su-wake.. last play of half is fg that ends with 1 sec on the clock and dead ball. then out of no where the refs says half is over

ala-aub last play is zero on the clock and then out of the blue the ref reviews it and allows auburn to kick a fg..

even if you though there was time on the clock it wasnt a dead ball decision.. had auburn been trying to clock it, or run out of bounds to end the half thats fine to review it but not in a live ball spot..

Regulation ended at 4:12pm.
