Unfortunately thus is for real. He consistently whines in numerous threads about the price of beer in the dome and how Applebee's is cheaper yada yada yada. Maybe he should ask his dad for a raise in his allowance.

"OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH!"

All I know is that sitting in CTO seats sometime while I'm alive on this planet is one of my bucket list items. I'm moving back to NY this year to put myself in better position.
Well, I'm not sure they'd let you sit in the seats when you're dead on this or any other planet, so...

Most of the time our heroes have that honor for a reason...we have a lot of heroes here and some sit in the seats of honor. Some live 1000's of miles away. This is a very cool place largely because it allows all kinds of fans to interact and share the SU sports passion. Glad to be here...

You're awesome, brother and glad to be here as well!

This is what I picture when I imagine you walking past the suites and courtside seats, for some reason:

I am gonna play Comedy Snob myself for a moment.

I never found Steve Martin funny, or least got him. Especially for that era. Give me Chevy Chase.

Ugh. He remade The Pink Panther which was just asinine.

Just me.

I think that's actually the opposite of comedy snob. Comedy snobs view Steve Martin as a god. Chevy Chase is...eh.

Have you been to any other event besides the Dome? How were those prices? I bought my friends a round of drinks at a concert in Vegas last week.. 3 drinks, $60... did I complain? No. I understood that I was at an event, and was going to be a little expensive, and went back for 2nds.

You're a better friend than me

Where do you fall ?

All, I'm saying I lol at Chevy Chase in his movies. Never did much for Steve Martin.

IDK.

I view Steve Martin as a comedy god. Chevy Chase, by all accounts, is a raging a-hole in real life, so I've never been much of a fan. If you're a guy who Bill Murray hates off screen, that says a lot.

When it was all said and done we were about even on buying drinks for each other. Worked out good... They should have been buying me drinks, since we were at a Justin Timberlake concert instead of the Jones fight

Umm, that's one place, even though there was alcohol, that I can't picture you at

I have heard that about Chevy. Ooh they are bring back National Lampoons Vacation. Chase and Beverly D' Angelo with Ed Helms as Rusty and Leslie Mann as Audrey.

Love, Love Bill Murray though.

I've sat courtside once. I know many people on this board have enjoyed courtside seats now and then. And obviously, we have a courtside season ticket holder (who is the one who's been gracious enough to get many of us courtside) here.

I'd put my knowledge, and CTO's knowledge, and tomcat's knowledge, and bees's knowledge, and CuseTroop's knowledge, etc, above the vast majority of those you're saying are the greatest fans ever. I'm sure there are some good fans up there. But get off of it, dude.

I'm a 311 guy this year (not 1 of the true crazies). As someone who is in earshot of them, I can tell you there are some very knowledgeable people, and some very...let's say...less than knowledgeable people. Where you sit has no bearing on how "smart" of a fan you are. Regardless of the sections I've sat in over the years, there's always a mix of both. I don't get the whole this section knows more than that section. Hulk crazy!

This thread has been very entertaining to read. Everyone on this board is a diehard, but I don't give a crap if the people in the lower seats don't know who Malachi Richardson, Tyler London, Frankin Howard are or if they know who Ron Patterson, Chino, B.J. Johnson are. The people/companies that buy luxury boxes, court-side seats are putting the money in the AD office that allows Syracuse Athletics to build new facilities, pay coaching salaries, buy more guarantee home games.

The fine people who have season tickets in 300s, 200s are helping the program as well and should be commended. However, you need the bigwigs and calling them inferior fans is wrong. It doesn't matter who is more of a fan as diehard v. casual fan. If Syracuse wanted to make the Carrier Dome more intimidating they could put the students behind the benches, but they choose to take the $$$ from season tickets there and I have no problem because that $$$ helps SUAD.

This is the post of the thread.

There are people who sit downstairs and know a lot and those who are there for the scene and don't know anything.

There are people in 306 who I could talk hoops with for hours and there are people who don't know what they're watching.

I will say that the event games tend to bring out the worst of the know-nothing crowd; we've had some real dregs overpay on tickets (there are a lot of season tickets purchased by people who resell every game), come in late with a few beers, talk nonsense for an hour, and leave early. Those are my least favorite neighbors.
