Miami stinks. Virginia stinks. Virginia Tech stinks. Notre Dame loses to Elon. We can’t close out in Brooklyn. It will be a 4-5 bid league.

The only chance we have of making the tournament is somehow beating Tennessee and going about 21-5 the rest of the way(not happening).

Nice being checked out by thanksgiving (I’ll still watch like every game, but).

I just want to be ranked for a week!

So same as the past few years? Duke, UNC, and hot garbage.

It really is astounding how far the ACC has fallen. The league hasn’t finished better than 5th in SRS among all conferences since 2019. It’s unreal.
So, which conferences have moved up?

We’re regularly behind the SEC, Big 12, Big Ten and Big East. Often behind the PAC. Then we were behind the Mountain West last year.

And this is a computer ranking, not some AP poll with all that bias.

The ACC really has collapsed. It’s astonishing.

It’s a frustrating dynamic. Teams underachieve OOC but get better in conference play so there aren’t really many easy games but you also don’t get much credit for any wins because the teams hurt their resume in OOC play. Yet ultimately the league will do very well in ncaas.

Absolutely bananas that the Big East got poached and somehow got stronger.

The Mountain West being ahead of infuriating.

The Big East knows who they are and rebuilt their conference accordingly. It sure helped that UConn came to their senses and rejoined.

Personally I couldn’t be more disappointed in the ACC. It’s boring and mediocre. I like the ACC money and all, but I miss Big East basketball. What we’re in now isn’t fun. And it’s also our fault to a big degree. The ACC thought they were getting SYRACUSE and we’ve vomited all over ourselves for nearly a decade.

I agree with all of that, unfortunately.

The old BE teams are destroying it. Pitt, SU, and Lville have been atrocious on both sides.

And then over performs in the NCAAs. So…..

I really hated the ACC before Syracuse joined and I hate it more now. Watching Syracuse play against these teams is…infuriating. I couldn’t care less about NC State, GA tech, wake forest. Who. Cares. It brings no excitement snd sucks even more because our basketball program is irrelevant now. Watching UConn and other old foes succeed kills me. Conference realignment ruined everything. But hey, they get money so it’s all good.

Problem is teams have to get to the tourney first. And its not selected based on a few games in March from prior years.

Middle of the pack "P5" teams (2nd and 3rd quartile teams in regular season) , rely on its league members doing sufficiently well in OOC to boost them up into the tourney. The ACC has been putrid in OOC play for at least 3 years in a row and it crushes its members come tournament selection.

Xavier, Butler and Creighton were great initial adds that kept the league solid throughout the transition. They have all had some nice years since joining in 2014 (not every year of course).

Villanova has slowed down, but adding UConn has easily offset that.

If you would have told me in 2018 that Syracuse football would be ranked more often than Syracuse Basketball, I would have had you TDO’d.

It’s coaching. ACC had the old guard HOF coaches. SEC has all the top coaches in the current crop because of $$$$$$. ACC coaches are JV and schools like Cuse are taking a bet Red will develop. Is Red a Top 25 coach or showing signs of becoming a Top 25 coach? If no, then what the hell are we doing.

If you had to pick one program to blame for the demise of the ACC which would it be? I know who I'd chose lol and it's not even close we've sucked that much.

Us and Lville. Both should be perennial Top 15. Then you have 4 big time programs to build around, plus a really solid second tier (Clemson, nc st, uva, Pitt etc)

It doesn't matter if the ACC is rated down this year. We aren't going to sniff the tourney this season. We'll be lucky to even have a winning record by 1 game.

Does it make anybody feel better that Pitt might be a really good team this year?
I didn't think so.

Pitt will certainly be top 20 next week if they win today. #13 in KP, and up double digits early against Wisconsin.
