The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

Can you elaborate on how they didn't do a good job

Can you elaborate on how they didn't do a good job with our basketball investigation?

I'm sure she can't, but Bond has lost a ton of potential billings because of SU's dissatisfaction in the last couple years.

I thought Flood was suspended during this time period? Is he still coaching the practices,if so I hope the NCAA takes notice on how serious rutgers has taken their admitted NCAA violations.

Rutgers right now reminds me of where SU was in the era post McNabb ... A group of bad apples who were bringing trouble to the program ( was is Jamel Riddle? And a linebacker whose name escapes me now).

Yes, he's been allowed to coach practices.

weren't there tons of witnesses?
you mean Carroo's friends and family? I'm sure they'll be eager to testify.

Like I said in an earlier post - this is exactly the outcome of a lot of DV related arrests. No victim, no conviction in the vast majority of cases, unless it is caught on camera (like Ray Rice). I think it is good and right to feel a sense of outrage and injustice, but that outrage and injustice happens countless times every day, and not just because in this case a star football player on a rival school is involved.

I know what you are saying GENERALLY about DV cases, but I'd guess the majority of assaults occur inside a private residence where there is limited evidence to gather. However, this happened in the public arena after a D1 football game. There has to be more witnesses. I also find it hard to believe there were no cameras in the area. I wonder if this was a half-ass investigation.

According to NPR (WNYC) this morning, Carroo was let off only after the victim said she didn't want to testify. They made it sound like once the victim backs out, the case pretty much dies, regardless of how many witnesses there were.

If there is no complainant, then there is no crime to charge.

Dumas, not Riddle

He still SLAMMED a woman to the ground! Isn't that enough grounds for a dismissal KYLE? It's one thing to not have morals as a football team, but at least have morals as freaking human beings.

Supposedly it was someone else that slammed her to the ground, a friend of his. He apparently grabbed his current GF and got away from the action. Not sure I believe that, I am absolutely sure the girl knew who slammed her to the ground, she just won't testify.

Out tonight for a late dinner and beverages with the lady this evening at a local ale house. Watching the State/Tech game while another television had the Bergen Catholic game. With her being a native of Bergen County we kept note, and they displayed a graphic of the top NJ recruits. Most (all?) had commitments to B1G.

Her response? It is easy for other schools to steal recruits. There is no D1 football school in NJ.

Thought of you all and this thread. I didn't argue or correct her.

"No, no there isn't. You are right," I said as I have her a high 5 and sipped my beverage.

Coming late to the comment party but a truly bizarre set of circumstances is here - even a NJ beat writer was floored that the guys arrested for B & E were "criminal justice" majors - and the "student-athlete" (big, muscular football player type) for whom the coach got into trouble for contacting a faculty member had failed a "dance appreciation" class. If you read this in a work of fiction you would laugh about it as it couldn't ever happen in real life! Life imitates art I guess.

A female judge in Florida this week sent a victim to jail for refusing to testify in a DV case this week. I think she got 3 days and the thug got 15 days in jail

The sad thing about this is that without consequences, the perp ends up doing it again.
