The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

His chance to beat a ranked team and the defensive guru gives up this. lmao

Jerry Seinfeld Popcorn GIF by Sheets & Giggles

This was it...this was the moment Ratgers could be relevant again. A win agaist a top 25 team, their first since they defeated the, some might say greatest Florida football team of all time, the mighty South Florida Bulls.

They had it, right there, the team and fans could finally be able to pump their chests out a bit and say, "we belong!" We were given the easiest schedule in years and they could now look to turning the page. CHOP AWAY!!!.

But then, almost as if the defense would have been better of charging off the ball like when they are down 14 and the winning team is kneeling the ball...they remembered...they remembered that they are Ratgers. A terrible team, lead by a joke of a head coach.

Next year...always next year. Here is to 16 years!!!

The details make this even more hilarious:
-Rutgers up by 1 with 10 seconds left in the game. Illinois has the ball on Rutgers 40 yard line and it’s 4th down with no timeouts.
-Illinois elects to try a 58 yard field goal into a brisk wind. The kicker misses but Schiano calls a timeout to ice the kicker so no play.
-This gives Illinois the chance to rethink their strategy and they decide not to try the field goal but to go for it.
-Rutgers runs a heavy blitz and the play goes the distance for a TD. Game over.

That’s simply called a Rutgers.

Trying to ice the kicker on a 58 yard FG into the wind is the epitome of over coaching. Lmao
