The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

I don’t have a problem with it. To me It’s kind of fun to be honest. I think two things can coexist. We could be bad, and we can make fun of Rutgers too. For those who recall back 20 or so years ago, Rutgers was nothing more than a team you laughed at. But Schiano made it personal with us, and their fans followed his lead. He was classless with negative recruiting and badmouthing of Syracuse , which I can tell you is 100% true and an obsession of his.

Rutgers always sucked, and no one, even here in Jersey, paid any attention to them. Then they got OK for a few years at football and their fans became insufferable, and they still are. Then they always sucked at basketball and then they had a pretty good team with Harper, Baker, etc. Then their fans became insufferable for basketball too. Then they got two of the top three recruits of the country, and became even more insufferable, (and they were all booking their trips to the final four too).

So while we were certainly not happy with the way this season went, they were devastated with theirs, because while we are cautiously optimistic as a fan base, they go all in with unrealistic expectations every year, in every sport. So when they crash and burn, it makes their losing that much more entertaining. (Remember their football team was supposed to be a “playoff team“ this year too. LOL.)

In the end, we won NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS in soccer, cross country, and field hockey, just in the last few years, and certainly have a punchers chance in both men’s and women’s lacrosse this year. We have a long history of being above average in almost every sport. We have NFL Hall of Famer‘s and NBA legends, and the 2 greatest lacrosse players of all time. We always have something to celebrate or remember. Our campus in “Siberia“ is beautiful, and theirs is a dump.

They have nothing, zero, zilch. When they stop acting like they are something special, I will stop liking these threads.

Edit: they do have something, Louisville 19 years ago. As I understand it that is a HUGE deal. HaHa.
Those Thursday night games are huge for a program

That's one of the reasons why it makes no sense to cite the incoming recruiting class as a reason to retain the current staff.

The portal is much more important.

This is not against you or about your post, but College Basketball just sucks, which you are correctly referencing in your post.

Oh well

Wonder how they feel about our top 10 recruiting ranking lol

Can someone point me to where we are 10? On3 has us at 25 and 247 has us at 41.

Edit: NVM, I was looking at 2025. We are now 9th on 247 for 2026.

Ever been, but one of my sons is a big fan. Even has a shirt

I have one about 3 miles from my house. Usually only use their carwash. Sometimes will grab their breakfast tacos or fudge, but otherwise it's too damn crowded.

Yup...avoid all Buc-ees from 11am to 4pm on most days. That 10 min stop can become 45 mins due to gridlock

Buc-ees is good, but it's expensive, and the last few I stopped at got rid of their made to order menus (did this happen everywhere?). That negates lunch and dinner for my family.

Best bathrooms on the road though. One request, if you're a full grown man, don't stop at one of the the two short urinals just because they're the first ones you see. Walk another 10 feet and use one of the other thirty available for grown ups so the little kids lined up don't have to wait for you.

Is there something that you'd like to share with the class?

Not to mention little people.

It's no Buc-ee's
I prefer the Sheetz and the Love's that come with them :p Sometimes after it involves some WaWa, but I've bever Buc-ee'sd it. This is how bad some of these freaking rest stops have become... We need to Pilot a different naming scheme and Speedway it fast.
