The Annual Bubble Discussion Thread - 2021 Version

Clemson beat Maryland by 16, not vice versa lol.

Good catch. I just saw they beat Purdue too. I still think the Big Ten playing each other over and over is bastardizing their metrics based on early season success. Iowa was another team that handled their business against UNC.

We have had games where we have found a way to beat Virginia on big occasions. It usually comes down to them making or missing shots and struggling with pressure. They are also trending down a bit Maybe we will know where Hauser is located the next game. The last time we played them Buddy was stinking it up then and Richmond barely played too.

Iowa, Michigan, Ohio state and Illinois are legit. The restt of the conference is hanging on the coattails basically so I agree. Wisconsin the team in the middle (can’t get a feel for them. High number of losses but all to tournament teams outside of penn state and marquette) The same marquette team that has losses to DePaul and providence lol. If marquette was in the big 12 with their resume at 12-12 they’d probably be in. They have wins over Wisconsin, Creighton, UNC.

Quoting myself here but looking at loads of teams schedules/resumes it’s amazing how up and down most teams have been throughout the country. Teams around .500 you wonder how they have 12-13 wins, then you look at other teams with around .500 and wonder how they lost 12 games. this Covid season is something we probably won’t see something close to in a long time.

You left out Purdue. I think they are better than Wisconsin. All of those top teams have some losses to the bottom of that league so it makes the bottom of the league look better.

That's true... UVA lit Cuse up earlier this year, but the 3 point defense was non-existent. You can't give open looks to Hauser and Murphy and expect them to miss.

On a side note, I'm friends with the father of one of the UVA players (a starter). He mentioned that his son was commenting on how good of a player Kadary is and how difficult it is to guard him.

Hauser and Ruff were sat down when they became ball stoppers and taking poor shots. Virginia has opened up their biggest lead without them.

I mean am I wrong here?

I think you're probably wrong. They're a mid 10 seed on the bracket matrix. If they lose their first ACC tourny game they may be squeezed out.

They beat Va Tech (home), Ga Tech (home), and Duke (home and away). That's def not great. But it's 2 wins over teams in the field. Plus they've had a pretty wild season with the covid breaks and guys missing games.

The funny thing about both our resume and Louisville is we both have 1 quad 1 win, and 2 wins over teams in the tournament (I'm assuming for the moment Duke won't be in, bear with me) and our quad 1 win isn't either of our wins over the teams in the tournament
