Its all about the QB... and we dont have one. If we can somehow recruit 1 great qb, it will magically make this team look completely new.

I'm willing to go the Cam Newton route but I have que$tionable moral$

Sometimes, all it takes is to have "one man among boys". A great QB obviously, or a RB, even a WR who can go up and catch every pass good or bad thrown is his direction. I always felt Dwight Freeny made an average SU team good in his senior season when we won 10 games. He always occupied 2-3 guys . got to get one of those men

Sorry but I would rather have a big upgrade in team speed than 1 stud QB. With overall team speed increased, a serviceable QB will suffice. That being said, we do not have a serviceable QB on the roster right now. :(

Riley Dixon has about as many TD passes as the rest, right?

Correct. I said we do not have a serviceable (adequate) QB on the roster. My point (which I guess I shouldn't have made in this thread) is even with a stud QB our team speed would still be a hindrance no matter what.

with a better quaterback, bubble screeens look better and faster, running backs are more effective.. it changes the entire complexion of the team. we need a stud quaterback. why 5 was never used as a recruiting tool i dont know

QB is the most important position, but the answer isn't that simple. Unless you mean a recruit who might be ready 2017 or finding someone from the JUCOs.

Have to fix the OL blocking and find a RB for next year -- no matter who plays QB.

Screens are not even designed or blocked properly to be successful, and they are run way too often. No QB changes that.

QB may be the single most important player but I've always been a believer it all starts in the trenches.

What about Special Teams-When is the last time we've been decent on Special Teams?

We are horrible on special teams and have been for quite some time. We need a special teams coach and we need Estime to stay healthy because he is a legit punt returner. Don't think Erv is the answer as kick returner so we need someone to handle those duties.

Our best OL in the last 15-20 years ended up 8-5 with two miracle wins (yes you can argue after Pugh was back our record was better, but we still needed the miracle plays to pull them out).

McNabb had average talent at OL during his years. He made it work. Also, to your point - our DL this year was prior to the season thought to be a weak link. We have a top 25-type D with an average to slightly above average DL.

QB is by far the most important. After that a stud RB (Gurley from GA), IMO.
