The Athletic on recruiting

Syracuse has a larger enrollment than the following ACC schools:
Louisville
Miami
Duke
Boston College
Wake Forest
Notre Dame*

We are also on par (within 2k) in enrollment with these ACC schools:
Clemson
Virginia

I don't understand the point your trying to make. Duke, BC, WF, and Virginia have the same problems as SU. They might be a little father or behind but are in the same general shape SU is.

Miami and Clemson are both far ahead because of their tradition and current status multipliers. ND will always be on top because their tradition multiplier is second to none.

Gedney was a HS All American but I dont recall where he was ranked. I know he was all over the recruiting magazines.

It can, how many schools do that?
The answer is there are seven college stadia bigger than 100k. But, #2 and #3 overlap SUs 6 hour driving radius (PSU, OSU). I think the fact they are in the B1G hurts more than if they were in the ACC because if we played them a lot, you could get "spite" recruits (kids who grow up hating certain schools).
Of course, I might just be talking out of my butt.

My point was enrollment/number of potential donors isn't preventing Cuse from being competitive, in my opinion. There are tons of reasons why we struggle I just don't think that's one of them.

Since joining the ACC (2013), we haven't been very competitive compared to our peers:

Cuse: 2 bowl games

Louisville: 6 bowl games

Duke: 5 bowl games

Boston College: 6 bowl games

Wake Forest: 5 bowl games

Virginia: 3 bowl games

This isn't an enrollment, donor or money issue when comparing against this list of schools.

Our recruiting is fine if the goal is to go to a bowl game every year. Anyone in the ACC can easily go to a bowl game each year, if they schedule correctly.

The fact that we haven't gone to as many bowl games as the above has more to do with scheduling, coaching turnover, and a little bad luck. Location plays no part in SU failing to get to a bowl.

Lol no doubt I need to get out more. But what other school has a huge center hung video board and state of the art lighting? the potential is huuuge

I get both arguments here. I love our upgrades and myself, love the dome gameday atmosphere and sightlines. When it comes to watching a game and getting close to the action, not many facilities have that. That said, there are many out there that dont like domes, they notice empty seats, and there are alot of stadiums and college towns that just have more juice than SU. It's just a fact. We have closed the gap a bit, but when a kid visits the big house. shoe, wisky, any sec stadium, b12, there is a huge gap.

Kids will come to cuse for early playing time on a very competitive conference and I think su offers a great college experience athletically and academically.

For some reason BC and UVA have out recruited us the past decade or so and put so many high draft pick players in the league. I think as a cfb destination we destroy BC. Boston is a pro town and BC is basically page 4 of the Boston globe sports section. However, the allure of a big city must mean something to recruits bc they have recruited OL, DL, lbs, and DBs well for some reason.

We have less conference wins than every team in that group too since joining the league. Its not just a scheduling difference.
