After having the jump pass taken away from us I got thinking about the best plays we've ever had and where that would have ranked.

Here are some in no order at all:

-McNabb game winner against VT
-2 pt conversion against WVU
-First play TD against PSU
-Dungey jumping over UVA defender/Dungey kicking Miami defender

I know there's more out there

McNabb’s throwback to Bromisnki happened right in front of me, I was 1st row in that end zone... so that play will always be my #1...

the espn2 banner that was on the rails may or may not be in my garage. You’ll see it early in the broadcast in the south ez - try to find it later :)

Doug womack playing the part of a mini me Lamar Jackson before lemar Jackson hurdling the defender on a td score that was linked here somewhere. Also Norley to schiano to ultimately beat Nebraska. Then of course Schwedes to Davis in the cotton bowl

Marvin Graves dime to Antonio Johnson vs UF. Just perfect.

McNabb to Marvin multiple times vs Clemson

Not even close to these but always worth a mention, Dyshawn Davis’ absolute man handling of the Rutgers running back (Jameson?) and Anderson picking up the dead man’s fumble for a td return

Don McPherson to Rob Moore on opening play against PSU. Crowd went nuts, game was effectively over after the very first play.

Michael Owens getting across for the two point conversion against WVU to preserve our undefeated season [although WVU did get the ball back for a few more plays].

That play by Vic Hanson will never be forgotten!

The Orangemen scored a touchdown with 10 seconds left and added the 2-point converstion to beat West Virginia, 32-31, and complete their first unbeaten regular season in 28 years.

Down by 31-24 with 1 minute 30 seconds left, Syracuse moved 64 yards on 7 plays, scoring on a 17-yard pass from Don McPherson to Pat Kelly. The Orangemen then sent the more than 49,000 fans at the Carrier Dome in a raucous, frenzied five minutes of uninterrupted celebrating after Michael Owens took an option pitchout from McPherson and barely scampered into the left corner of the end zone for the winning points.

The only time Syracuse beat Miami in the Orange Bowl McNabb converted a 3rd and 17 with a 52 yard pass to Jim Turner.

The Jamel Riddle Punt Return vs. VT in '01

Good plays by bad teams :

Damien Rhodes OT TD 50-42 3OT

Cameron Dantley to Donte Davis in south bend

The absolute stuff at the goal line on the two point play by Clifton Smith at North Carolina in 2003. 49-47 3OT W.

There was also a deflection by Rod Gadson on a two point play or Rutgers would have beaten Syracuse in 38-37 I forget the year 94?

1997 Kickoff Classic vs #24 Wisconsin. Kevin Johnson takes the opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown. Sets the tone. 34-0

I have never seen video of that play since I watched it live the day of the actual game. There are so many full SU games from the 90s on YouTube -- I don't know why this one isn't on there also.

The go-ahead touchdown from Kevin Mason to Harrison against Oklahoma in the Dome in 1994. The loudest I've personally ever heard the Dome for a football game.
A couple fun ones: Coach P gets ballsy, goes deep on 3rd(or was it 4th) and 1, Graves hits 50yard bomb to Qadry, why makes diving catch.

The 2-point conversion against Texas where the railing collapsed. Did Graves catch a pass on that play from Walker?

He did, and I thought we killed him when we all fell on top of him. My first game in the Dome and I end up in a heap on the field.

Jason Poles interception return for a TD against WVU in 1997. WVU was coming off a win against VT, and we smoked them 40-10 in a night game. For those who I know, that was our tailgate where Willy attended.

Remind Jason of that play if you ever meet him.
