the crane the crane

The two spirals on the second trailer are all the way up Forestry close to Skylar. Unloaded the thinner spiral at the corner of the Dome. I think. Big fatty's still on the trailer. Does look like the thin spiral has been off loaded. And one of the alien red trucks just escaped down Irving with a load or scrap.

All of the droopy hanging fabric is now off the cables which is improvement. I wonder how many cutters they have slicing the fabric up for sale and other uses?

My guess is that they would just ship it all in bulk to companies like Steiner Sports and they would do the cutting, packaging and whatnot.

I see the end of big fatty girder on the LC. Guess it's not unloaded after all. Hard to tell unless the trailer backs up and it still on.

Something tells me that the girder parallel to Irving is of interest to Walt's op, straps hanging over it. OR the spiral with the gray collar on it. We're going to find out.

Oh my there is the second trailer still backing up with the long spiral on it - wonder where he's going with it this time? OR that's a new arrival the spiral is very long. All the way back up Forestry. That has to be a new arrival because I see two of the earlier spirals on the ground.

Yes, a spiral in the air off the main yard. Re - positioning?

Now it's going up, cool WE ARE GO ON THE CROWN TRUSS AGAIN. But Walt is going to have some maneuvering that spiral does not go there does it? He's going to have to swing a 180 to get it over to where it's supposed to be. Hope I am correct on this - the op is bringing it over to where the telescopic boom crane is waiting for it to be installed.

anyone know if there's a machine used at the top of the dome that sets the pieces into place? or does a spotter just call it to the crane operator?

Another vertical. Somehow to me it does not look like it is vertical enough to meet the girder - just looks way low right now. I'm sure it will be adjusted as the other ones have and meet the two diagonals.

The crane operator has a camera on the crane. In his cab he has four different views from that camera to help him position the column. I am sure they are talking among each other as it gets positionedas well.

The bottom of the vertical is now hanging over the top of the wall and they are adjusting something to do with its positioning - hope it's not irreparable.

So the truss becomes light stancion? Not the worst idea, but in contrast to all the drainage conversation, the Dome is not designed to handle weather. It is an indoor facility. The field level is flat and drainless (and ignores the hoops dilemma). I know you just having fun, and I didn't take it too serious, but I saw it as an opportunity to respond to the earlier drainage conversation.
And basketball courts get slippery

The old roof is still a mess, but at least there’s a new spiral to enjoy.
Its also nice to see some new girders & spirals ready to go up this week.

Not to be a wet blanket but if Syracuse/Onnndaga County goes into a shelter in place is their a chance they send our construction crew home ?

I think Onondaga County is a long way from going to shelter in place. If they do, I’m sure the project stops.
