He made it clear that WVU was leaving the BE - talked about the conference in the past tense, etc.

My goodness, it occurred to me that I had forgotten about the fact that WVU was planning to leave for years not months or weeks.

The 'Neers were just trying to figure out where they could go.

Can't believe I forgot about that.

Yeah I remember that too, I think it was a TV interview actually. Their fans had/have no business blaming Pitt and SU for leaving the conference and forcing them to do so - they were looking to go before 2011.

Same goes for Louisville and Rutgers, they were ready to join the SEC and the Big10 respectively two years ago. I would imagine UConn, Cincinnati, and USF would've left too given the opportunity.

When you go to war with quitters, you lose.
