...and I know the game changed when Eric got hurt.

But we seemed like the team that played tight.

All the pressure was on ND. And we played like it was all on us.

Dungey or not, dare to try crazy stuff.

Three straight runs up the gut?

Scott Shafer, how did you get in Dino’s brain??

The plan was a lot of Dungey.

I love Tommy, but big difference b/t picking apart UNC and FSU this season verses what he got thrown into.

Bit of a wakeup call, no?

Lots of folks have focused on what Eric is not. Too few have centered on what he is.

Best hopes for TD. I can only hope that 30 years hence, we’ll be talking about him in the same vein as Eric.

But I have my doubts.

Whoever was going to be under center today was going to be in trouble. Did you forget Eric’s first 3 throws? They were to the wrong team

I just don't get the first drive to start the 2nd half it was almost like they were defeated.
The only thing that was working in the first half was the run game. It looked like ND was dropping their LBs into coverage to take away the short passes or blitzing them. Seems like the run would have been the way to go in the 2nd? I didn’t catch the start of the 2nd half so I wasn’t sure if the 3rd down run had a shot or not but I can respect the focus on the run game to at least start the half.

They definitely tightened it up in the 2nd half. In the 1st half I was really surprised how they were positioned up the middle - basically the two linemen and the middle linebacker, and everything else pretty far to the outside.

Our WRs are awful I hope next year we have all new guys hope that MSU transfer is good. Dinos system masked things this year. I thought Tommy made good throws but our guys let him down and never caught the dang ball.

i honestly need to rewatch the game to see what happened in detail

dont feel like it now

dont know if I ever will
I had to work and recorded the game. I did follow the score throughout the day. I don’t know if I will be able to watch it. It just makes me really angry when they get blown out. The only positive is that it is the first and only time it will happen in 2018.

True, but we were finally moving when he got hurt. He had just completed a pass to Custis and we were in ND territory. We had some momentum but who knows.

It looked bad. Especially where we ran well but off the 3 and 4 holes. We screwed ourselves there. Throw a screen or something to jump back into game.

Being a Viking fan this game reminded me of the time they played the Raiders in the Super Bowl. Same type of feeling during the game, always out of reach from the opening to the end. Some "almost" good plays but on the most part, a dismantling.

I do think this game would have been better suited to Eric’s ability to scramble, but our OL was getting owned. There were times he had maybe 1 second and there was a guy in his face. It was a total a$$ kicking unfortunately.

People are in denial if they think we won’t miss Dungey’s ability to make something out of nothing. He’s extended a lot of drives with his legs. And the response you get from many is that DeVito isn’t a bad runner. He’s not, but he’s not Dungey. DeVito is the better passer and there’s comfort in knowing we’ll be deeper and more experienced with receivers and backs next year.

But next year will determine whether we should only be recruiting true dual-threat QBs going forward. That’s been Addazio’s philosophy at BC since he took over.

Dungey was 1-4 with a bad pick. I have my doubts regarding him too.

I'm all in recruiting dual threat guys...gives you two ways to win.

Chance Amie will get a serious look next Spring. I hope we can get up on BC (a big if) and maybe allow him to play 1 or 2 series on Saturday.

Eh, Babers even said he had to tweak what he wants to do. I want to see a kid that can push the ball field and make all the other throws required in this offense

They avoid the middle of the field because Dungey can’t drive those intermediate throws consistently

The bad pick was the route being jumped. He did everything he was supposed to do. He looked off the safety and didn't stare down the receiver.

That was a bad pick - the dude that “jumped the route” was right there when Eric threw the ball - he just never saw him.

We'll agree to disagree. He threw it in Neal's window.
