The Downside- Duke

- Listening to the Twitch post games show, it was amazing how many people appeared shocked and made all the usual H0T Takes as if they’d just come to those conclusions. I thought we were all in agreement that the results of this game we very likely to be bad and that the real issue was what will we do in the subsequent games.

- Looking at the box score, I notice we had ten players play 10 or more minutes. Duke, with the best roster in the county, had 8. Why were we trying to deeper than them?

- Lucas Taylor went from 16NP to 0. Jacquan Carlos had 1NP. Eddie Lampkin had 4. It’s the inconsistency of our players that’s really killing us.

- JJ Starling has been consistent. In his last four games he’s shot 12 for 37 from inside the arc (32%) and 7 for 25 from the arc (28%). He scored our first seven points vs. Duke and it was 7-8. He scored 5 points the rest of the way. My interpretation of that is that the rest of the just didn’t give Duke to worry about and they could concentrate on shutting JJ down.

- The last time we played a #2 ranked team, Elijah Moore scored 24 points. He also scored 16 vs. Maryland. Then he went scoreless for 6 straight games. He hasn’t hit double figures since.

- Kyle Cuffe was a hot name a while back. In the last three games he’s got -7NP. Last night, he was 0 for 8 from the field in 12 minutes.

I do not understand why we cannot shoot the ball better. One game we're good, the next as was evident last night we suck. No team I ever watched who played for my friend JB was ever like this - good and bad seasons and there weren't that many bad seasons.

I can't believe we cannot shoot better than this.

We can't shoot and our shot selection is awful, and we rarely get uncontested looks, and we can't finish around the rim.
