The schools with the largest endowments are in the Ivy League (except perhaps Stanford) The Ivy League gave up big time athletics 70 years ago.The whole higher education system is subject to market issues. The schools with the largest endowments tend to get the better students because they have best know professors, top flight programs, great infrastructures, and top financial aide programs. Why should the sports be different?
