he's gotta show competence at coaching-and grow a pair -

im afraid being a defense first coach is going to be his downfall -hes rolled the dice twice on oc's and the first roll was snake eyes-

and his dam mentality to punt on 3rd and short is asinine -

im not going for this number wins gets him a extension - hell he could win 3-4 but be in 8-9 games till the clock runs out and im all for giving him more time


i just want him to be competent

In theory it might but their recruiting is middle of the pack and their record is significantly better than their recruiting rankings. Coyle knows you can win, win a lot, win against good teams with just decent talent. The absolute most important factor in CFB is coaching. Anyone that thinks Coyle would consider keeping Shafer on recruiting alone is absolutely crazy.

You think playing season after season in the WAC or whatever conference they play in has a part in that?
