The goal tend. Pffft. Get a grip folks.

Yes I was at the game. The play happened right down the line from us. KJo got run over and that caused him to lose the ball. It wasn't even a push, the guy just ran right over him trying to get to the ball.
Yeah, but it was probably an instant make up call for the missed goal tend. I thought Jones' three was going down. I really didn't think SU was winning this game. Not sure we deserved to, to be honest.

It's just the wheel of Karma beginning to spin in Syracuse's favor. I welcome it wholeheartedly. Next, we get Fab back, Dion pops out of his funkyslump and the 3's start to fall at a more reasonable clip than they have for us. We'll be kickin a$$ and takin' names. Sympathy for the opposition is for sissys.

It definitely could have been a make up.

The goal tend was so obvious. How the hell can three refs miss it? And Baye also put his arm through the net too. So they really missed two goal tends on one play.

We played better down the stretch. Kris made back to back hoops. Triche drove and got to the line. WVU was just jacking up 3's (except for the goaltending of course)

All true...but Dion jacked up a ridiculous runner...we fumbled away rebounds...we made some BAD plays too.

The goal tend is also a judgment call. No more or less so than a guy getting hit across the arm as they take an inside shot. Black and white is still judgment. The only calls that aren't judgment are calls of rule.

I agree with what u just said. My point is more that the committee and outside perspective will judge this to be less of a "real win" than if the "blown call" were more debatable. Unfortunately, perception matters in college sports when we talk about seedings or bowls or whatever, and I imagine that's why anyone would feel worse about winning in this way. I hate that perception matters but it does..

We are 22-1 right now. The committee isnt going to be looking at the WVU to determine anything with respect to us.

The selection committee won't even remember this game.

Especially with one ref right there watching - the replay clearly shows him watching the play.

Yup - conspiracy against WV. Oh wait...we're leaving too. I guess it's because we didn't sue.

Not sure we deserved it? Why not?

We gutted it out and overcame poor 3-point shooting and poor rebounding and poor games by several players. Triche and Joseph made plays when we needed it and we survived. That's all that matters. This isn't a beauty contest.

Not sure we deserved to, to be honest.

How can you say we didn't deserve to win? That sounds like the ignorant media. OK, count the goal tend. What is the score? Does everyone know that we were then going to not score in the last 10 seconds for the win? And if we did miss, does everyone know we then then assuredly lose in OT? That was a game tying goal tend, not a game winner. How can anyone say we didn't deserve to win?

We should just call the BE office and tell them we forfeit.

Instant make up call...that's ridiculous!! And we definitely deserved this win as much as any this season. I can not understand one bit how people say we did not deserve this or that they feel bad. Everything equals out after 40 minutes and the team with the most points wins. Did not deserve...snicker.

Wow. You couldn't be more wrong about this. Wow.....wow

"hey tom, I have Syracuse as a 1seed. "

"wait a tick, I perceive that WVU win as less than a 'real win' ".

"good point! 2 seed it is"

Hahahhhhha!!!!!

I wasn't referring to the goal tend at all... Refs were bad. Period. They hurt us with blown calls. I'm not sure we played well enough to win. That was my point. Nothing to do with the refs or the goal tend.

I have to admit being with Bees on this one. If we didnt really play well enough to win, what did WVU play like?

lol. are you 4 years old?

Okay, I take it back...we played great today. We shot well and rebounded well and deserved to win this game. Better?

By the way I don't think WVU played great either. We won ugly. I'll take it. But we need to get better and I think everyone here knows it. Well, mantonio thinks we DOMINATED the game, so everyone but mantonio knows it.

They blew the call at the end, and they blew a call when Kevin Jones knocked the ball out of our cylinder earlier in the half. Cancel each other out, and we're still better than everyone.

Yeah, you're right. In a perfect world WVU should have been awarded 4 points. That's what we really deserved. Then we would have had the chance to really earn the win.

Come on...it was an awful call...I was just pointing out that they missed two violations by Baye on one play. The refs were bad all game and screwed us several times.

No way, no how.

When the committee looks at this game, all it will be is a win is SU's RPI column.

The committee has no time to parse controversial wins.

There must be over 100 controversial finishes a year. 24 hours later, nobody gives a crap.
