This was likely around the time Hopkins realized he would have to seek a HC job elsewhere. It is not hard to imagine that he became less invested in the future of SU hoops.

I am not sure what the rest of the staff was doing at that time.

It stinks because K and his staff used USAB duties to make early connections with elite young talent and Cuse did not.
