is very good and so often overlooked. Somebody please give McCaffrey the Heisman already.

PAC 12 is also fun to watch. Great wide open and innovative offenses.

The early loss to Northwestern killed them. Two losses disqualified them. I would have loved to watch Stanford vs. Alabama.

Yeah, it's too bad, but the 4-team playoff is still better than no playoff. You can bet Stanford entered the Rose Bowl with a chip on its shoulder with McCaffrey losing the Heisman. This isn't the first time in recent memory where a Stanford player lost the Heisman, and McCaffrey had a phenomenal season this year. My sense is that the Stanford schedule this season measures up pretty well in comparison to just about any SEC team's schedule this season.

No Pac12 team should agree to play an OOC P5 team out east before noon California time. Playing a good Northwestern team in Evanston, Illinois at noon (10 a.m. in Palo Alto) to open the season was not a good idea. Pac12 teams always struggle a little bit when they play early games out east.

The Pac12 needs to stop being so difficult with their PST. Until then, no one cares.

I'm half kidding.

The Pac12 is out of sight and out of mind for many people especially people who live in SEC country or who work as college football journalists and for whatever reason love the SEC.

Ever since it was announced, I was always against the CFP expanding beyond 4 teams -- I didn't want it to dilute the value and excitement that big regular season games brought. But after TCU last year and tOSU/Stanford this year, who knows what the right number is...

I don't know the right number either. I think 8 is the next best option, but right now I'm just really happy with 4 compared to the BCS system that was in place all those years. Last season was more exciting in many ways, but next season could be even better. Who knows, but college football is great even though some of the officiating needs to improve.

And their OC was one of our plan B's if it hadn't worked out with Babers.

I watched that entire game, they were awful that day, a completely different team right now, they could play anyone in the country tough.

Yeah, they beat USC two times I think. They beat Notre Dame OOC while losing the opener OOC at Northwestern and the nooner start in Evanston which is 10 a.m. in Palo Alto. The loss to Oregon was crucial. The Ducks improved during the season. I'm interested to see how they perform today. The Pac12's record is once again very strong in bowl season. I thought last season the Pac12 was as strong or possibly a bit stronger than the SEC. This season I give a slight edge to the SEC. When Chris Peterson gets his program rolling at Washington in his third season the Pac12 will be even better.
