The path is opening up.

Based on early returns. Only Clemson and ND will SU be clear underdogs. Could be a special season. I understand a thousand things could happen but it is exciting. Get your a__ to the dome Saturday, we need you.

ND game could be potentially special. ND's schedule is pretty easy for their standards. I see At Tech, home vs Stanford as the only games where they may slip up before us. Imagine they come in undefeated vs a 1-2 loss Syracuse. Could be a huuuuuge game.

This is such a pivotal moment for this program. FSU is vulnerable and a win at home, with a probable win the following week vs UConn would provide the program some serious hype heading into the Clemson showdown.

We cannot have any more of these let down games at home.

yep 4-1 start would be great.

Stay healthy at key positions and have the youngsters grow up, could be a program changer, especially for recruiting.

Our easiest ACC games by far are the 2 following Clemson. Pitt and UNC are brutal this year. Going 3-0 vs them and Uconn is essential. I think everyone is OK with the rest of the games going either way.

I'm not sure what to think about FSU. If its a low scoring game I don't see how we can win. But being 3 point dogs must mean the oddsmakers think there will be scoring and some back and forth and we can absolutely win that type of a game. Really nice to be playing a game like this early with Dungey healthy.

Tier 1, Elite:
Clemson, ND

Tier 2, Bad Matchup and pretty good:
BC

Tier 3, Juries Out: NC State, Wake, Louisville

Tier 4, Beaten Down and might be bad: Pitt, FSU

Tier 5, Horrible: UNC

Tier 6, specially created just for them truly awful edsall special: UCONN

Our D against WMU was like a sieve. Hoping the coaches have tightened things up a bit. Michigan (effectively) shutting out WMU isn't a great portent of things to come.

I expect a shootout on Saturday. Hopefully the FSU players are quitting on the new coach. Their fans have to be down right nasty right now.

It was a sieve for one quarter, a quarter after we got way up.

I'll tell you what I think about BC Thursday around 11 pm.

Fair enough. However, there's no way around it - the D gave up 42 points. To a WMU squad that scored 3 last week.

Would ESPN even do a Game Day for two teams on a neutral field?
Yes, they did a game day from Times Square I think.

Understand and I'm not saying we are Michigan level defense. After Alabama and Clemson, they may have the best defense in the country. That said, I think we're far from a sieve so far. Things could change, though. I felt good about our d last year until things went south quickly after Clemson.

Couldn't agree more, really need to seize this opportunity as were O for the last decade when we get these moments. Also can you pop over to the Bills thread, were getting of the rails quickly after yesterday, lol.

Hopefully our DL can get a good push against (what looks like) a weakened FSU OL. Prolly the key to the game - that and protecting Dungey somewhat. I expect FSU to completely shut down any interior running by SU.
