The only concern will be health, really needs to make it through the seasonI think he is going to be on the drafts boards again, soon.
Donnie's gait is still off and appears to be limping. He is limping like he was last season when he was lost for the season. I hope he gets through the season because we need him to be successful. The only concern will be health, really needs to make it through the season
If he develops that midrange game (and improves his handle), he becomes similar to Melo—three level scoring; rebounding, strong. It will be fun to see how he continues to develop this season, assuming health, team chemistry, and coaching allow this.He played great and is clearly our best player. Offense needs to run through him. Minor gripe but thought he passed up a couple very makeable midrange jumpers. He just needs game reps and will be back on draft boards if he stays healthy.
In my opinion, you don't want anybody shooting mid range shots. They are the least efficient way to score points. Give me Freeman's shot chart against Georgia Tech any day, 4 shots from 3, and 14 shots in the paint. Perfect shot selection for him. His second half against Clemson had similar shot selection, 3 from beyond the arc, and 4 from where he could touch the basket. If he develops that midrange game (and improves his handle), he becomes similar to Melo—three level scoring; rebounding, strong. I don’t disagree with your opinion in general. It is one that has been proffered frequently in looking at analytics. But a good mid-range game is key to being a very good scorer, whether it is coming off a faked 3-point shot, or good defense halting penetration into the paint. Further, a respected mid-range game draws a defender closer to you to potentially facilitate a drive to the basket. I cited Melo for obvious reasons, but a lot of very good scorers have that in their arsenal (SGA is probably the best example presently). What I wholeheartedly agree on are the shots just inside the arc…what’s the point? In my opinion, you don't want anybody shooting mid range shots. They are the least efficient way to score points. It isn't coincidence that when you take only the most efficient shots, your scoring efficiency is higher.
I don't see that. And if he is limping like he did last season, as you say, he will certainly not make it through the season.Donnie's gait is still off and appears to be limping. Also one of the best ways for a 3 pt shooter to get himself back in rhythmI don’t disagree with your opinion in general. It is one that has been proffered frequently in looking at analytics. He gonna be wealthy.I think he is going to be on the drafts boards again, soon.
I thought he actually looked pretty goodDonnie's gait is still off and appears to be limping. He is limping like he was last season when he was lost for the season. I hope he gets through the season because we need him to be successful.
And drive to the bucket when he’s actually challenged out there. Pump fake and go.Donnie should feast on foul line jumpers. Best shot our "offense" can generate besides gimmes.
EXACTLY!! Rock that rim, baby! And drive to the bucket when he’s actually challenged out there. Pump fake and go.
100%. Most defenders won't be in his face, so he can easily shoot over them. If they are, pump and attack. And drive to the bucket when he’s actually challenged out there. Pump fake and go.
I think he just has an odd gait...bit of a hiccup in his giddy up. If he was still hurt he wouldn't be playingDonnie's gait is still off and appears to be limping.
