Okay this may be far fetched but I'm willing to possibly go out on a limb here for some of our members. I have pretty good intentions of putting in a bid for one of the sets of 2 tickets for me and my girlfriend.

However, if there is someone here who would like to contribute somewhat towards the bank of 4 tickets while keeping the price I would be willing to pay for 2 the same, I'd consider putting in a bid for the 4 and then giving the 2 extras to said fan for the price.

Example:

I'm willing to pay $800 for an auction of 2. Someone out there is willing to spend $500. Instead of me putting in the bid of $800 for the 2, I put in a bid of $1300 for the 4 and someone benefits from what I'm willing to bid, and we get 4 of the 8 seats for Orange fans (I would pay the 800). Keep in mind this is just an example and the amount I would bid may vary from this.

I honestly doubt they'll go that cheap, but it was something I thought might be beneficial to someone.

Also, this is all contingent on my girlfriend being up for a last minute decision to head down there, but I think I can talk her into it.

Please PM me if you're willing to spend X dollars for 2 tickets but that X is less than what the current bid is (currently 350/500) and we'll see if it's feasible.

i would entertain the idea but I promised myself long ago I would never step foot in that cesspool state ever again. NJ nor PA.

How would that work? Of I read that correctly, you can get a better deal for 4 tickets vs 2 tickets and you would like to pool our money? How would we do this?

Basically, it could be approached 2 ways.

1 - Get the package of 4 and divide equally.

2 - Get the package of 4 and I pay whatever I would have bid for 2 and someone else pays whatever they bid for 2. I know it sounds confusing, but my thinking is that perhaps someone out there is willing to bid like $500 for 2, but the auctions for the sets of 2 are already above $500, we could go for the 4 and I would put in the $800 I am willing to pay (this assumes the auction for 4 is at $1,300 or less). Like I said, these are just random numbers, but used to make an example.

I probably just confused you more, huh? Bottom line is I thought maybe it would help someone - I think I can probably get the 2 on my own if need be, but I really don't know what to expect.

He's saying How much would you pay for a ticket? We'll take that amount add that to how much I'm willing to pay. And if we win we'll sit next to each other at the game... BOOOM

I think your making it to complicated, if you're willing to spend that much money on tickets. It sounds like you don't live in the area so I would suggest that you get a hotel room someplace in jersey and spend
Saturday in NYC site seeing and then on Sunday try to scalp a pair, I'm sure you'll be able to find someone unloading them

he wants courtside... he's basically offering someone a chance at a good deal. If no one is interested he'll go solo on this endeavor.

Again, the canine mensa member is correct. I know I can't get these tickets at the dome and soon most of our away games won't be close enough to do this for. I view this as an amazing opportunity for me to get up close to the Orange in an amazing year to boot. Not to mention the fact that I don't even know the odds of these types of tickets being available anywhere.

My plan is to head down early and meet the fans at the tavern, do the same after the game, and get a hotel for the evening.

i watched a cuse game at the dome baseline against uconn back when charlie villanueva and josh boone were huskies. We got beat, but greatest sporting experience i've ever had. I asked Villanueva where his eyebrows were... he starde me down, I was intimidated. Not my finest moment but i was young.

Is there court side seats at the RAC? Maybe the bleachers at either end of the court? The RAC is so small that the 200 section feels like you're court side! Sounds like the person selling the tickets is making some coin!

Hey man I get what you're saying about being by the action. It all depends on you preference, I've say in the long range view and court side for a ton of games but I prefer sitting a little off the court, you can see everything that's going on

Well I just saw them do a clip on the local Syracuse news on this so I think my competition will be much stiffer. I am quite upset but perhaps i still have a chance. I think half of my excitement is doing this at an opponents court.

The current auction price (via RU Facebook page) is less that current "solds" on stubhub. WIth the RU package you get a parking pass and a lame buffet. Best of luck to ya. I am hoping to score some print at home tix via stubhub sunday morning. I am anticipating a big drop sunday morning.

Honestly still up in the air about this. Reading the Rutgers forum, some of them think there'll be no way they go less than like $3,000 or so. Not to mention, the RU athletic department has yet to update the bids since early yesterday morning, so something seems a bit sketchy. Oh well - only 40 minutes until we find out.

did you put in a bid? Best of luck sir.

Thank you, sir! I just put in a bid. I actually put 2 separate bids in on each of the 2 sets of 2 in case one ends up going for less. Highly unlikely, but I guess I could end up winning both. In which case, I would have to find someone here in need of tickets. :)

Unfortunately I never heard back from Pete regarding the NJ address he had for someone to use, so they might see my real address and conveniently throw it out.

You'll know if I won if the winning bid ends in "44". :)

I doubt they throw yours out. If they did you'll know. What if you bid more than the winning bid? I would scream bloody murder at them. Take the story to ESPN. :)

Haha I was thinking the same thing, but it is Rutgers after all, so who the hell knows? They also said they'd be occasionally updating the bids via Twitter/Facebook, and that they would post one final bid status today at 11:00 AM. In typical Rutgers fashion, they sucked at that.

I could see them conveniently saying they never received an email or the hamsters running their network had a heart attack or something.

Grrrrrrr... I bid $644.

Pretty lame that Rutgers never updated the bids until the end so I had no option to raise.

That is pretty lame. Their own athletic website said they would update throughout the day and Thursday and Friday. I would have guven you the $7 just to see you win. It just goes to prove how mickey mouse rutgers is.

That in and of itself didn't seem too odd to me. It's the fact that I put the exact same bid in for both sets and both sets happened to beat me by 6 bucks that is real odd. It really makes me wonder what would have happened if I had been able to get a hold of Pete who offered to let someone use his sister in law's NJ address.

Oh well, perhaps I'll get lucky down the road with tickets for a game somewhere else.
