- Abe Lincoln, in his Gettysburg address, said “People will little note nor long remember what we say here…”. I like first round games that will be little noted nor long remembered, like this one. It’s the ones you remember that I don’t like.

- We jumped out on top, never let them have a serious run and were able to relax and enjoy it at the end. Quite a contrast to most of our games the last 6 weeks.

- We got everything going and working together here, (except at the center position). That’s what we need for a significant run in the tournament.

- Trevor Cooney had his first really good game since Notre Dame on February 3rd. He led the team with 18 points, including 4 three pointers. And that helped open things up for his teammates. I particularly liked two plays where he had a defender in front of him, took two dribbles to his right and went up for an open shot and canned it, (he was fouled on the second one and made it a 4 point play). More of that, please.

- CJ Fair didn’t seem to be having a big game but wound up with a double-dobule, 14 points and 11 rebounds. With his teammates clicking, he didn’t have to do everything by himself and played like the CJ form the previous couple of years. But part of that may have been a decision to run the whole offense and not just run isolations for CJ. He’s a better player as one of the Borg. One of Five: “Resistance is Futile”.

- Tyler Ennis also benefited. He didn’t have to try to take over the game down the stretch. He just ran the show and took full advantage of the scoring opportunities that presented themselves. 16 points, 6 assists.

- We didn’t even really start getting the ball consistently until the second half but he really put on a show when he got it, scoring 6 of 9 shots and going 4 for 4 from the foul line. He had some Sports Center dunks. He’s becoming a quicker, even more explosive Hakim Warrick.

- We dominated the boards, 41-25. We rebounded 43% of our misses and grabbed 78% of theirs.

- The Bronco’s two stars didn’t hurt us. David Brown was 2 for 8 from the field and 6-11 Shayne Whittington had 2 rebounds.

- We survived and advanced. Back at it Saturday.

28-5, (14-5), with 5 to go

Let’s Go Orange!

Silent G was a nice positive as a backup with 4 nice assists and looked like a backup point guard who can truly help us. Didn't score but still played well.

Another positive - Keita looked more like last year's tournament Keita today as well.
Had some silly fouls, but made some nice rebounds (and securely held onto the ball), had a couple good blocks, and showed that yes, he can dunk the ball.
