the wisconsin kid now flipped

Good lord, on back to back days this isn't good.

It's why you should recruit mainly out if your own region - how steady are those Illinois kids?

However, I guess its better for staff to know this now rather than later on signing day.

We only have 1 NY commit.

Uno.
Un.
Single.
Not multiple.

Why

Having lived in Wisconsin, this is not terribly surprising. Those kids, more often than not, grew up dreaming of playing for UW. Even more so once you consider his father played there.

Why

Because they all seem to think that they are too good to play at SU or their handlers think they are too good to play at SU. I have no problem with going to other states to get talent if the kids don't want to stay home.

its not like he left us for uconn- its his home state team that his dad played for- no brainer

the bright side is we might have a staff that can find talent early and if you can get some kids who's word is worth a danm it could work out-

i personally believe you live by your word-even if its a bad choice - because a man whose word you can count on is worth a lot in a world thats run by liars

The recruiting stuff is madness. I've said it before, I mean it, and I'll say it again. Tell me who we got after they sign a LOI and make the grades. In other words, I don't care who verbals until they are enrolled. Even then, they still have to make the 2-deep before I pay much attention. I learned my lesson with guys like Vick, Baskins, Preaster, Cantey, Collier, Tucker, etc...Get on campus, and show us you can play, then I'll learn your name. Everything else is just hype.

Why

What's SU's record been over the last 10 years?

Not too many NYS kids are growing up to be SU fans these days.

But....shouldnt a recruit see this as an opportunity to start?
depends on the kid. Someone with the other factors and variables in play like here or just a front runner kid who wants immediate likely team success could flip when this type thing occurs. Less common to find the devoted kid who sees his chosen team struggle, who also may have other big time or bigger offers, who then stays true to his initial word and then also wants to fight the good fight, early playing time or not, to get a program over the hump.

It's why its such a GD travesty to let such a historic and successful program slip back then like we did. The hole to crawl out of is so challenging, and is why generally in college football the rich get richer. We gotta get to "richer" status again but the huge challenges remain to getting there. And you gotta find kids up for that challenge which is harder, obviously, vs the currently more successful programs.

No offense to NY kids...

But they'd be more justified ignoring Cuse if they were from...idk not the Northeast?

In retrospect, I'd gladly take PA, Il, TN and South Florida kids over NY'ers.

What ever happened to Preaster?? I thought he had a lot of promise, really fast kid too.

Just as early committing has become the rage, so has flipping. Now it gets down and dirty. How many flips will we get vs. flips we lose?

Does anyone know if the Wisconsin offer just come in, or was it on the table when he committed to SU?
