I can't open the link so maybe its shut down. But I found these gems on the regular Rivals Rutgers football forum:
"The way I see it, we have great shot at 6-0 going into the 2nd half of the schedule" We are the Big Dogs in all of the first 6 matchups. Penn State and Michigan have to come to our house. They have to come through Rutgers and our tradition."
In response to whether making a bowl game out of the Big East was a major accomplishment..."I do, not only did we have to go through a top 10 OOC every year, we had to make sure we win at least 1 or 2 games in the premier power conference in the nation, hard to find another program with this level of track record." (I checked, as I suspected they played ZERO OOC games against a ranked team since 2005)
And then there is this poster's tagline:
"RUTGERS FOOTBALL | NATIONAL CHAMPIONS : 1869, 1961, 1976"
Just for giggles I pulled up Rutgers 1976 schedule. Yep they did go undefeated. They beat: Navy, Bucknell, Princeton, Cornell, Connecticut, Lehigh, Columbia, UMass, Louisvill, Tulane, and Colgate. Heck that's a schedule Shady would have been proud of. That was also 10 years before Howard Schnellenberger went to Louisville to build their program. They finished ranked #17 that year.
