the reason you care about third down is because that's preventing us from scoring. What does any of that have to do with the fact that the teams ability to convert on 3rd down, which was the point on the original post?
I've said more than once that I'm happy with the way they have moved the ball and the adjustment in the pass game the last two weeks.
That's the whole point, the inefficiency, not the inherent capability, of this offense is holding them back.
I'd ***ing hope it would be better now, let alone year 3 and 4, considering he wasn't handed the worst offense in D-1 when he took over.
so i thought it would be interesting to look at yards and scoring.
if you can't move the ball, you can't score. we see that pretty clearly under every coach.
when we can move the ball, we still don't score like we should. in this case it's third down. in 2012, they were great at converting third downs but something else caused them to not score like they should
in 2012, they were 63rd at getting TD in the red zone. There was still something weird going on with moving the ball between the 20s and not getting TD
everyone remembers 2012 as something glorious when it was just pretty good
even with mcdonald, they are going to score more, it's really hard not to. will be interesting to see where the year ends up
