...has been like one giant kick to the nuts, right from the beginning.

Starting with that debacle of a game against an FCS opponent, to the never ending stream of injuries, to the coaching shake up, to the announcement today that Long is out for the rest of the year.

Awful season.

End of rant.

So far, yes. Let's see what they do with their backs against the wall this weekend. Do we legitimately compete, or do we fold under it. If you ignore the name of the school and just look at the talent/experience/coaching of the team we're playing, this would be a really good win. I don't think it should be out of the question either on Senior Day.

Should we lose, on with the kicking. Speaking of which, it's ironic that our kicker is about the only positive story.

Don't worry! The excitement will continue after the season is over with a slew of recruiting decommitments, the penalties from the NCAA investigations, and coaches jumping ship/getting canned!

On the next episode of My Orange Life

Our only home win has been Nova…
The Nova game is a W only because of the missed 25 yd FG. If Nova had made that kick, Cuse would be 0 - 6 in the Dome.
So disappointed in the current state of affairs regarding Cuse football.

Your name from now on is Flounder.

why?

WHY NOT!

through in the DWI for our long time broadcast announcer as well, my god I cant wait til its over... totally brutal

Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom in order to get back to the top. This didn't work with Grob...but maybe this time it will.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!!!!?

Has this been done before? There's FML -already. Can we please start a thread called FMOL?

The highlight was the 65 yard TD run by PTG against Nova to make it 7-0. It was all down hill after that.

I almost wish we could cancel the rest of the season like highschool teams in the NE are doing because they are running out of players.

It's mind boggling that any p5 program could be this bad for so long... you almost have to try. I'm at the point where it's like either make a commitment to try winning or don't but tell everyone so we can stop wasting our time every fall.

My god dude. Take a step back

We have won 3 bowl games in 4 years. Not exactly my definition of bad.
This season we played a tough schedule with about as many injuries as I can remember.
We are passed the GROB mess, this is just kicking up bad memories.

Oh my G@d... what are you thinking??? You jinxed the poor guy. Look for someone running into him and breaking his leg on Saturday. Nah, that would be too easy. He will stumble getting off the toilet seat and break his ankle instead.

But seriously... this season has been so hard to comprehend that I actually could see us winning on Saturday. So far, everything that we didn't expect has happened... so why not have the trend continue? Works for me!

I've been watching and rooting for SU football for five decades through the good and the bad...and I'm willing to give our program this backhanded compliment.

We've improved since the GRob years...we've gone from terrible to bad.

I just think you have to toss this season out for so many reasons. This is what you definitely call an outlier. Everything that could possibly go wrong did. If you look at what we've accomplished since the dark years of GRob (minus this year), then we certainly aren't bad. Let's see what happens next year as that will really tell the story whether we are going backwards again or this year was a fluke. I know we are all hoping for the latter.

What's most disappointing is many of us thought we were heading in the right direction. I know I was calling for our "breakout" year for 2015, but thought we had a chance to be very good this year considering we were bringing back almost an entire offensive line from a very good one the year before. Hunt looked like he was the future at qb his last 3 games of last year. We had all of our receivers and te's back from last year, plus many thought Estime would emerge as that true go to guy. Defensively we needed to sure up the interior DL, but we brought back a LB core that has seemingly been playing forever. Not to mention we had 2 future pro's in our secondary. I mean who wouldn't think we had a chance to have a good year? That's the most disappointing part.

This season finally proved Gerg right...

It snowballed into something that caught fire, crashed and burned. Maybe he was a genius after all.

Starts from the top. Seems like the offensive philosophy from day 1 wasn't what the head coach was on board for, even though it wasn't much different than last years offense. Seems like the offseason strength and conditioning program is lacking big time if not a downright joke. Not enough hitting in the summer which also leads to injuries. Fort Drum is a waste of a week. I don't see a vision with this program long-term. Shafer talks the part of a head coach but the execution of being a head coach just isnt' there. He will have 1 more year so he better do exactly what he wants next year because no more "do-overs" or assistants to throw under the bus
