This entire football season...

I just think you have to toss this season out for so many reasons. This is what you definitely call an outlier. Everything that could possibly go wrong did. If you look at what we've accomplished since the dark years of GRob (minus this year), then we certainly aren't bad. Let's see what happens next year as that will really tell the story whether we are going backwards again or this year was a fluke. I know we are all hoping for the latter.
It went wrong because of bad decisions by the people in power NOT because of bad luck. There is a difference

These are the times that try men's souls.

Like Scott's bad decision about breaking the Starting QB's leg .
The way the QB was playing at the time, that was a blessing in disguise

What's most disappointing is many of us thought we were heading in the right direction. I know I was calling for our "breakout" year for 2015, but thought we had a chance to be very good this year considering we were bringing back almost an entire offensive line from a very good one the year before. Hunt looked like he was the future at qb his last 3 games of last year. We had all of our receivers and te's back from last year, plus many thought Estime would emerge as that true go to guy. Defensively we needed to sure up the interior DL, but we brought back a LB core that has seemingly been playing forever. Not to mention we had 2 future pro's in our secondary. I mean who wouldn't think we had a chance to have a good year? That's the most disappointing part.

Agree 1000%.

There are a lot of factors for that - some our own doing some not. I do think that how they respond to this season will say a lot about the staff and players. And I expect it to turn into wins.

I certainly agree that those in power shoulder a lot of the blame as far as how the season unfolded. However, come on... either your eyes are closed or you just aren't being honest if you don't concede that we have also had a big dose of bad luck as well. Just about everything that could go wrong this year has. That is not ALL on the coaches.

Agreed. Even as difficult as the schedule was, I thought with so many returning players we were poised to handle it favorably.

Given that we had so many returning players, a QB who seemed to get better by the end of last year, a coaching staff that seemed to get better over the course of last year, etc. it seemed reasonable to think that the program was heading in the right direction.

I certainly didn't expect this train wreck of a year.

I'll take "Least Surprising Reply Ever" for $500, Alex.

Let me ask you Stern, why do you think so many coaches choose to fail?

Nobody expected it which makes it so disappointing

I disagree on the "bad luck." Every team has injuries, some teams have more injuries than SU. It's about adjusting to the injuries and keep the ship afloat. SU couldn't. To me it comes down to bad decisions but I see your point I just disagree

We are by far the most banged up team in the ACC.
