The thing that always struck me about Pearl was that he was just as fast with the ball as he was without it. He was so smooth in the open court, the ball seemed attached to his hand in a way I have rarely seen before or since (video of Bob Cousy makes me think he was the same way with the ball). Just an amazing talent.

Shortly (like within a week) after his death, my wife and I we going into NYC, through the Lincoln Tunnel. There was a memorial billboard. On the MSG Marquee as well. Just amazing

I still remember the interview Al McGuire did with Pearl when he announced he would be going to Syracuse !
Pearl Washington was and still is the most exciting player I have watched in a Syracuse Uniform.
Pearl is to Syracuse Basketball what Jim Brown is to Syracuse Football, no greater compliment could be paid in my humble opinion !
