This perfectly sums up my thoughts and feelings

I understand how hard it is to see Shafer leave Syracuse but he's laying it on kind of thick:

A family that, following the win over Boston College, had their father taken away from them.

He should avoid writing and just focus on talking.

That's exactly the phrase Cordell Hudson used after the game. Tortora was almost certainly referencing this: http://www.syracuse.com/orangefootb...l?hootPostID=8874692d2484255175cb2c387a0b7212

"He's like a father to us," Cordell Hudson said. "Anytime you take a father away from his kids it's going to be emotional."

I think maybe you should read some of the players tweets. They love this man like a father.

I completely understand the players missing Shafer. That bond is so personal and can't be downplayed.
I'm talking about Tortora using players' feelings and comments to write an article about his personal feelings.

That was written like a wannabe media member who is upset about losing his access to the program. You can feel sympathy for Shafer, but he got fired from a coaching job (for which he will still collect his final 1.whatever million), we should all be so lucky to have something that bad happen to us.
