yeah it's the equivalent of me complaining about joe thornton in 1997 when he was 18 playing for the Bruins. Same equivalency to me now. He's open to being ridiculed, mocked, lauded, etc like any professional athlete.Yeah, I wasn't angry either. We've seen this movie far too many times to get upset anymore.
I suspect the reason we wilt is because we're not as good as our peer programs. Our record sure doesn't stack up to theirs, and I've found that's a good way of determining performance.
Also, side note about your money comment... I don't hold back on criticizing the hell out of college players anymore. They're basically professionals at this point. And in my mind pros can deal with fan criticism.
Sugar comes with the spice. I still think Fran hugging him like a porcelain doll was softy soft stuff for a guy who is our heisman guy.
