Having been an avid Syracuse fan for close to 40 years I can honestly say that I've never been in such awe of our team as I am this year with this team. We certainly don't know how this year will end up and anyone who follows college basketball knows that anything can happen on any given gameday. I remember the great teams with Roosevelt , Duval, then the Pearl , Rony , Coleman, Sherm and then through the 2003 Championship team. Those were all fantastic teams and provided great moments. This team however because of it's depth and breadth of it's talent is something that is all together different from any team we've ever seen before. I can see that they are improving as the season moves forward and they are scary as they are right this moment. I can only imagine what they are capable of as March and April approach.

This team will come out and play the competition fairly evenly for a short spell... and then... and you know it's coming... THE RUN!! and they explode with a barrage of takeaways and a fast break freak show with points coming fast and furious. The other teams look dazed. The timeout follows and as the camera pans the Cuse sideline you can see the nods and smiles on the Cuse players faces and you suddenly know... this game is as good as over. There can be no serious discussion as to which team is the best in America at this juncture of the season. Kentucky was lucky to win today and well, y'all saw what my friends up the road here in Florida did to the preseason favorite North Carolina today. Thirty three points, that's 33 #$%$&@# points hung on the team that the media was totally in love with preseason. I guess now we'll have to hear about Baylor for a short period of time. All I can say is it is unbelievable to be a Syracuse Basketball fan right now. Next stop, 20 -0 Go Orange!

The scary thing is that they have not played a "complete game" yet. It will be interesting to see what happens when we put two halves together. I wonder if it will be like crossing the photon stream.

I was wrong about the impact of the depth. I thought it would be more important to have a few 'great' players. Jury's still out, but i'm now pretty impressed. We're comfortably winning games that would have been more challenging to us, even with more 'stars' on our roster. And, we're not having letdown games that have always plagued us over the years.

Here's one cool thing about the depth: With any other team, you have five starters, and typically, one or two will have 'plus' games, and one or two will have 'minus' games (versus expectations/their averages). If you play against a decent team, those minuses might add up to a loss. With us, we have the luxury to sub-out a guy before his minus gets too deep and becomes too much of an impact. And our subs don't affect productivity. Keita's likely to put up as many points as Fab. CJ, as many as Kris. Dion... It's pretty cool.

That, and the 'down' (early) year in the Big East spells good stuff for us.

I dont think this is the most talented team we have have. However, it has the makings to be the best team we have every have. We have the perfect combination of experience, depth and talent. There really arent any weaknesses yet, as you said, anything can happen on any given night. We just have to be on our game, it will be interesting to see how this season plays out

The depth will provide a calming influence all year...when your practices day in and day out are just as or more difficult than any team we face in real games, how can these guys not be prepared for what is thrown at them. The defense is stifling and JB is rotating through guys to find the hot hand each game. Not great shooting nights by a few key players and yet we win going away. We aren't giving up uncontested 3's and everything inside is being challenged. Few teams have the combo of guard penetration and mid-range shooting that is needed to beat this zone.

Great call going with the press to speed up the tempo of the game. Was over after that.

North Carolina gave up more open 3's today than Cuse has all year. JB has been right all along. It's not the defense you play, its how you play it.

There's a lot to be excited about, and it's been a hell of a run so far, but it was a bad team they faced out there today; this team has also looked a little more mortal against the better competition its faced. I'm glad to see them wasting the teams they should beat handily, no real flirtations with a What game so far. But it was only a week ago that the team allowed a 23 point lead to be cut to 2 against better competition. Not trying to be a downer, just injecting a little perspective. Can't win by enough for my taste come Monday, and then we'll see the competition get a bit tougher over the following 7 games.

i think a real key to our mortality so to speak was the bf ordeal was fresh off the press when in nyc. we got complacent against marquette. we have the most talented guard we hae had in a long time along with nba caliber talent at the 3 and 4 .. add that to a high potential and improving 7 footer.. hard to say if we really can say this isnt the most talented we have ever had. its close imo. we are our own toughest competition this year. if we execute on offense and dont give it away there really isnt another team that has the mix of talent, depth, athleticism , defense or senior leadership that this team has. we should expect to win it all this year hands down.
