Thompson injured

High ankle sprain? Hope not...if we can avoid playing him until CMU (sparingly) then all in for LSU so much the better.
Mark from a good source its turf toe

From WebMD for Turf Toe treatment:

Another way to protect the joint is to immobilize the foot in a cast or special walking boot that keeps it from moving. The doctor may also ask you to use crutches so that no weight is placed on the injured joint.

No inside information but this aligns with what we know and jccuse's source information. Hope it is true.

turf toe can be a bitch to heal sometimes...hopefully not too serious.

If it is indeed turf toe, the boot and crutches are precautionary. Since Thompson is an integral part of the team, they're being very careful with it I'm sure.

Generally speaking, turf toe is just a sprained toe. It can take anywhere from a few days to two weeks (max) to heal. The crutches and boot are so that he does not re-injure or aggravate while walking.

If this is the injury, this is much better than an ankle sprain. And he should be full go by Rhode Island.
