I somehow knew that Kyle would make 1 of his 2 free throws.

Unfortunately I just expect that every Syracuse player is making 1 of 2 from the line this year.

Starling has a similar hitch. They start bringing the ball up from their right hip, then jerk and load the ball on their left shoulder before trying to twist their arm and wrist back to the right as they release. It’s like they’ve fallen asleep on a long drive and are starting to drift into another lane before swerving back straight

I have no idea how they’ve developed these hitches. JJ never had it until his first year at Cuse. Red and the staff have gone with the conventional coaching route and not forced the players to change their mechanics and motion, but to stick with what they’re doing in order to maintain consistency. But that’s a mistake. They need to go against the grain and tell the players they need to completely change their shot mechanics and what they’re doing and find a new routine. The hitches are crazy and bizarre and need to be eliminated by any means necessary.

I think the rest of the December is the time to get them some help and get to work on this. We have basically 2 bye weeks in December and should just be tuning up as we get ready for Clemson.

they are all big boys, just shoot it one handed and the hitch goes away. I doubt they shoot 50% without a hitch no matter what they do. The same for shooting left handed. Much like putting, hitch will be gone.
