Ok. Why are people thinking Welch is a dual threat?

Because he ran for 800yds and 11 TDS in juco. Nobody is saying he is Dungy but he can run. And he is big which is helpful with this Offense.

The Syracuse football program has been, over the past 20ish years, in pretty bad shape.
There have been some good years but for a significant chunk of that time, SU has been either in the Bottom 10 or flirting with it.
So, yeah, I think there are a lot of more attractive options for hot coaches.

Yes, there are worse places to go to but, the number of worst places to go is a lot smaller when you're Syracuse.

My point wasn't to drag Syracuse football or to be the 'I'm-just-saying' guy. My point was to realistically address the fact that it's harder to attract the people you want working here. SU football is consistently a project. It's not a program that's been basking in success for years.

So, realistically, yeah, I think getting the coaches that you want at SU is likely a hard sell, especially considering this season's problems.

But what do I know. Maybe we'll hire Mike Leach this offseason.,

I get what you’re saying. To me, no, we prob aren’t getting those high profile coaches at all. Which I didn’t really expect anyway. But there are some great coaches at the lower levels looking for any change to move up and SU would be an enticing place to do that I think. Temple seems to always find, lose, and find new good coaches so I think we can too if we have someone good at identifying that talent.

Ok we give up way too many sacks in every game, so you are saying that if we didn’t do what we do every game the result would be different

have we though? I mean we’re 3-4 - so I guess no?

the last two games we are in it in the final drive - so yeah - a few more possessions without sacks and we win

On 3rd and long, they often go to a soft zone instead of pressing the receivers at the line of scrimmage.

I hate that we do this but its true. Saw at least 3, 3rd and 10 plays where the receiver just sat in the zone and was uncontested for a catch.
