We have a group of five. Four are flying down from Syracuse on Friday and I'll be coming from BWI. We are staying at the Courtyard Marriott in NE Atlanta near Emory. Seats are towards the bottom of Section 234.

Because we are ubering everywhere and won't have the logistics to tailgate, our plan was to just go inside the stadium when it opens at 10 am. I've never been to Mercedes-Benz, but from what I've gathered it's pretty awesome inside. Not like the Dome where the food sucks and the concourses are claustrophobic. It looks like there's tons of high quality food and drink spots and lots of wide open bars and spaces with TVs. I was hoping to carve out a good spot and watch Lee Corso's final Gameday. If anyone knows of an SU pre-game party or tailgate, let me know and we can stop and say hi.

After the game is completely TBD for us. I was hoping to find a sports bar that isn't overly crowded where we can watch the incredible slate of games on Saturday. Anyone know of any good spots? Please don't suggest the Gold Club. OK fine you can.

It's time to start thinking about this. I have a group of 4 flying down from Syracuse on Thursday. Staying about 4 miles from the stadium in the Old 4th Ward area. We are in section 125. Since it's a nooner, going inside the stadium at 10 is probably a good idea. Maybe a mimosa or bloody mary at breakfast beforehand ;) .

Would love to find some Cuse fans to gather with inside or outside the stadium. I'm the type of guy who will meet you outside the venue on the curb with a bag of beers. My wife is not that type of person - so that probably won't happen. But I think since Tennessee folks will far outnumber us, any Cuse fans milling about will be welcoming to one another and be happy to chat.

Post-game we have no idea. I need to talk about it with the other couple we are traveling with, but like you I wouldn't mind finding a place to settle in to celebrate the win with other Cuse brothers and sisters. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to share. I imagine any places adjacent to the stadium will be mobbed after the game. Part of the adventure.

Cheers and Let's Go, Orange!

I'm considering a nutso itinerary where I take a red eye from SLC to Atlanta with nothing but my wallet, phone, and phone charger, kick around getting breakfast, head to the stadium and game, and fly back shortly after.

Lemme know if anyone has room in their group ticket buy for one more, as it would be more fun to not be completely solo.

Assuming that you will also be packing deodorant in addition to the afromentioned items, I would love to meet you.

BTW...for those who haven't met OttoinGrotto

On the creepy SU fan meter he is a solid 4.

Seriously he was awesome at the UNLV tailgate working the grill and chatting Cuse. A good guy

For the 85th (or more) time: Mercedes-Benz Stadium is an awesome stadium.
It's going to make your top-3 or top-5 best stadium list.

Get in early. Walk around. Enjoy the environment.
Food & drink prices are very reasonable.
They even have a Chick-Fil-A. (Yes, our game is on a Saturday... so it will be open).

SU does have an official tailgate that morning.
It would conflict with your time to check the stadium and team warm ups.

I suggest that we have a SyracuseFan get-together the evening before.

How was I not aware he was there doing this? Was he hiding his nametag from me? Was it the heat stroke affecting my vision and/or memory? Either way, I'm quite disappointed at this missed opportunity.

Usually combine our early season trip with a beach vacation for Mrs. C, so flying out Wednesday the 20th. Go a $380 fare out of Syracuse on American. Spending Wednesday night in Augusta then headed to Myrtle Beach for a week at our HGV time share. We’ll drive to Atlanta Thursday, staying at the Embassy Suites Centennial Park on points. Waffling on the Cuse tailgate Saturday morning or just heading into the stadium early. Bought “cheap” seats in 338. Then flying home Sunday to get ready for the UConn tailgate.

If u want to say hello, I’ll be the guy wearing orange

Driving in from Columbia, SC Friday night. Staying at the Hampton Inn near the Georgia Tech Campus and will be doing the 30 minute walk over to the stadium. My 17 year old son will be joining me. The Syracuse University tailgate party is just too early a start to participate in that not to mention I got to get my money’s worth out of the hotel’s free breakfast. Plan on entering the stadium between 10 and 10:30. Seats are in the first row of section 340 ( upper deck 45 yard line). We are also going to the SC/VT game the next day. My son has unfortunately adopted the Gamecocks and not the Orange as his favorite college team. We plan on visiting the College Football Hall of Fame and the Georgia Aquarium while in downtown Atlanta. If you see an Orange (solar octane is the official color name) Toyota 4Runner with a SC license plate “GO CUSE” driving around, that will be me. Already looking forward to that weekend.
