Albany High School Running Back Learned From The Express

QUESTION: Could you provide an update about the performance of rookies? Are these guys meeting the staff’s expectations?
– from Nick, Columbia, Mo.

ANSWER: By all accounts, it was a solid draft by the team. All five guys should make the 53-player roster, and all could contribute as rookies. Anthony Castonzo is the starting left tackle. He’s going to be allowed to learn on the job. Drake Nevis has been very active in the defensive tackle rotation. What’s not to like about 5-9, 225-pound running back Delone Carter? He could boost short-yardage efficiency and be a nice change-up from Joe Addai. Ben Ijalana is working as the backup right tackle and should see some action in his first year. Chris Rucker needs to develop quickly because the depth at cornerback is a concern.

Thanks for the pos anyway. Good information on the tight end.
I cant believe AA's top 25 list, only 1 SU player!!
They got that one right but man, no Bailey and I think Ryan will be in there by years end.

McKinnon, the RB out of Albany, is one of the fastest players in the state. 5'10,. 175 pounds. Was at the SU camp but did not get an offer. Might be a B list guy for us.

Link

That Joey Ehrmann, a starting OLB for WF, is the son of SU alum Joe Ehrmann. Hate to see legacies that can play end up playing somewhere else.

Agree on the article. Sounds like Shafer will be around for a few more years at least, which is great news.

RE: 'We've got to protect this house' article

This team is concentrating on all the negatives of playing at home instead of all the positives.

The excuses need to stop and like all other teams in all other sports they must realize they have a huge advantage when they play at home.

Chandler Jones' arms look like freakin legs stuck to the side of his body - good lord - the fact that he has another year of eligibility left after this one makes me very happy :)

Chandler fortunately/unfortunately will have a real decision to make about that extra year of eligibilty as he may have good NFL draft potential...but you need talent like that to win so lets enjoy him this year
