Time is Ticking w Fab...

What info is known: the vague "reporting" from Donna from the Post-Standard that it could be "a while"...I mean...what exactly do you "know" from that? A while could mean anything at all. I'm not trying to be argumentative; I just don't get what is "known."
Nothing is "known." But the report suggests he will be back at some point this season. If he wasn't, the report would've been something like "Fab most likely done for the year" or "doubtful Fab returns." It wasn't. It said it could be a while before they are resolved, suggesting they will be resolved.

Johnny Detroit is an excellent handicapper with good info...this is not good at all.

I just don't understand how students at the Duke's and Stanford never seem to have academic problems but our students do. Also this professor better not reveal his or her self because there will be riots and protests against her. She should have just passed him. Cuse bball brings in a lot of revenue!

Looking at his bio, he won the 2004-05 Las Vegas Hilton NFL Super Contest.

I wouldn't think someone like that would around with people knowing the money that's probably depending on his words...but I guess you never know.

Yeah... a professor's primary responsibility is to the athletic department's revenue stream.

The guy is a big-time handicapper. I just have no clue how it wouldn't leak that there was another hearing today...

Obviously this guy is plugged in and vegas finds out just about everything but who could possibly leak this to him , meanwhile the beat writers and others are clueless

You actually believe that the writers in Syracuse publish all that they know?

Unlike Joe Blow from BetAllOfYourMoney.com they have relationships to maintain. With delicate matters such as these, the reputable writers will wait until there's an official statement from the University. Failure to do so will leave them without access to Manley and without people to contact/interview. It would their last meaningful published piece as a member of the media covering the Orange.

Johnny Detroit @Johnny_Detroit
Fab Melo appeal denied. Out vs West Virginia (Sat) & St. Johns next week. One last appeal effort tomorrow. Hearing not looking good.

But St. Johns is still 9 days away. If the final appeal is tomorrow, how do they know already he is out on February 4th if by chance he won that appeal?

They seemed to do some questionable reporting on the fine scandal, that papers inept

Fab issues aside...I am more concerned about sports handicappers having potentially that much access to SU...

I have a hard time believing the first Fab Melo news in days is coming from a guy who calls himself Johnny Detroit.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's worse---that, or the fact that they have more info than Mike Waters, Donna Ditota, and Brent Axe locally, and more than all the so-called national guru's---Seth Davis, Andy Katz, Gottlieb, etc. What??

so what grounds would he be appealing on?

If you can appeal multiple times, is the appeal with a different review panel (akin to State Appellate Court vs Supreme Court)? Or is it the same entity, and a matter of regrouping and coming up with a more convincing case?

Looking at his older tweets he knew about the suspension before the media, seems legit now unfortunately

Even my father is now in the Fab news game. Said he talked to a guy at a bar tonight that delivers up on the hill and said he ran into Fab and Fab said he will not be back for Saturdays game but will be back for the St.Johns game. Similar to another story a poster stated a day or 2 ago. Let's hope the delivery guy is right :)

Yes, but I don't see how resolved means Fab playing on the team. It could mean they kick him out of school.

The more I look at that tweet the more I think it doesn't tell us anything we don't know. We knew there would be appeals this week, right? I think we know that he probably wouldn't play Saturday. Being out for the St. Johns game is just assuming this alleged final appeal would go poorly.

Nooo! I don't believe you are not interpreting correctly. If the final appeal goes "poorly" (he loses), he wouldn't specify only St. Johns, as that would be silly since he would then be out for all the rest of the games this season. He was saying that before they find out about the final appeal, he knows Fab will miss WV and St. Johns. As I mentioned in my post above, the problem I had with it earlier is that how can he assume St. John's is a "no-go" already, in case the final appeal goes favorably. (now since then, Jake put his post up that referenced it might be a Georgetown return as well, so I'm guessing it might not be resolved by next Friday when they leave for NYC)
