If we win, we're 4-2 with an "encouraging loss" to LSU, and I'm thinking 7-5 and a bowl game is very realistic and even 8-4 a possibility. I'm thinking that USF was just a bad day that can be chalked up to a young team playing it's first road game of the season, and I'm quietly thinking that just maybe we can hang with Clemson just like we did against LSU, and maybe even pull off a shocker since we'll have Dungey this time. I'm looking at FSU only beating BC 14-0 and thinking we can have a respectable showing down there.

If we lose, we're 3-3 and I'm honestly wondering if we'll win again this season. I'll try to be optimistic and tell myself that we can still beat Pitt, BC, and NC State and maybe even Louisville if we play well but I won't really believe it and I'll think of us as the underdogs in all of those.

It might sound a bit dramatic and extreme, but I doubt I'm alone in looking at things that way.

share your schizophrenic bipolar analysis my friend. We find out soon which of those two extremes will be reality. It's high time for the your first part optomisitic take to be reality. Here's hoping...

Another thing is that I'm really not up for seeing any "Well, at least it's basketball season! Practice Started! We will beat these guys on the court!" garbage this year. Hate those posts and winning today will ensure that we won't see them for a few weeks at least.

If we win today AND next week, we won't see them at all this year. Here's hoping...

I'm sure there will be claims of "agenda" but it they can't beat this UVA team 0 for the remainder is in play and the AD has to look hard at two straight sub 5 win seasons

The fact that we just got easily the highest rated kid that we've seen here in the 21st century to transfer here gives me REAL optimism that we really are bringing in the most talent we've seen in a long time.

I know many on here say that every single season no matter what even going back to when we were beating the MAC schools for the majority of our commits, but it's seeming like it's actually real right now.

I'd still be onboard, given the youth of most of our best players and a potential difference making impact offensive player, the likes of which we haven't seen since the 90's, coming in.

Last week Rocco posted about how critical it was to get a win in the USF game. I responded saying that I thought losing that game would not be a season killer. We would still have time to heal and get our act together.

Losing to UVA will probably be a season killer.

Edit: And UConn giving USF a better game than us gives me little confidence.

I would say we not only have to win but win big to have a legitimate chance at 7-5 or 8-4. This team has really shown nothing yet in terms of results; only "potential." The game that has people the most excited was a loss. I'm not saying we shouldn't be proud about that game, but remember GRob had close loses at home to FSU and Iowa.

Bottom line for me is this team has not surprised me on the upside yet. They have to win a game they are really not expected to win and/or beat a few teams badly. Just my perspective and I hope it starts today.

Fair points, though that close FSU loss was in Coach P's last season.

SUCK. What a demoralizing choke job. Did everything possible to give that one away, and the refs screwed us on Strickland's should've been TD and Dungey's incomplete pass that was returned for a fumble.

3-9 it is.

Back up the truck and turn this place into a parking lot! Back up the truck! Back it up!
