Tony White to FSU

I doubt he lasts 3 years. Either that entire staff gets canned or he takes a HC job. His career has ramped up quickly so I don't see him being an assistant for long
I think FSU cannot can Norvell for at least 3-4 years, his buyout is $64MM and they are hurting for cash.

I think your real point is spot on, White will have an HC job before the three years is up. Especially if he has a Top 25 Defense next fall, which should not be hard to do with his coaching and the FSU raw talent.

Didn't Ruhle tell White not to consider the Syracuse job after Babers was let go?

Incredibly. The man is 2-21 vs ranked opponents and people talk about him like he's Lombardi.
Very Schiano-esque. Records built on fluff.
Schiano was D-backs coach at Ped State when Rhule was there. Fran owes a lot of his coaching background to both of them as Rhule was a coach at W Carolina when HCFB played there. He later coached under Rhule at Temple and Baylor, then under Schiano at Rutgers. To make matters worse, Rhule went to High School with OC Jeff Nixon, played with him at Ped State, then hired Nixon to coaching positions at Temple, Baylor, (where he met HCFB) and the Carolina Panthers. Lots of lineage there for us not to be fond of. Glad it seems our two coaches are stepping out from those dark shadows.

Hard to really say.

Previously, Cornhuskers Wire discussed White’s potential candidacy at San Diego State, where he previously was the Aztecs cornerbacks coach and recruiting coordinator. Now, with Dino Babers being fired at Syracuse, White, who was the Orange’s defensive coordinator in 2022, is being considered a potential candidacy for that opening as well.

On Monday, Nebraska head football coach Matt Rhule was asked about Tony White and his name being named as a potential candidate for the job openings.

“Go get a job, I told Tony,” Rhule said. “A search firm called me and asked for Tony’s number and I said, yes, Tony White should be a head coach, he’s excellent.
“I tell Tony don’t take the wrong one. Don’t take the wrong job now, don’t take a job with no resources. Don’t take a job with no support. Don’t take a job without a great recruiting base. Don’t take a job where the expectations outweigh the commitment,” Rhule added.

He’s def referring to Syracuse there. I’m glad Fran and more importantly ADJW are proving his statements wrong just based on the recruiting staff we are building out.

Agree, very likely a school takes a shot at him as a HC

Happy to have had him here. One of the best hires Dino made while here
