I only saw the second half of the Marshall game on videostream.
During the time that I watched, Marshall outworked us and outplayed us. They wanted it badly.
The only thing that saved us was that they couldn't hit a trey until too late, and of course, that is also what made the score close at the end.
Forget them, I am only concerned with us. I saw a team that wasn't aggressive or working hard. I saw a team that let a lesser team bully them on the glass. I saw a team that had a lead and played without respect that the opponent could possibly make a comeback rather than wanting to play hard and really put the game out of reach.
I saw a team that either needs to change it's mindset or else this team will blow a gimme game where it had a 15 plus point lead before this season is out, probably to a midpack opponent.[/quo
Nobody is denying that they coasted most of the 2nd half, but that game was NEVER in doubt. The crowd knew it, syracuse players and coaches knew it, us watching it on tv knew it. Credit marshall for continuing to play hard, they could have easily rolled over in the 2nd half but they didnt. But its not fair to think we can plays balls to the wall 110% every nite, these are college kids not robots. They were coming off a big time top 10 win, they knew after the 1st half marshall couldnt hang with them, a lethargic 2nd half isnt all that surprising. Theyve destroyed most of the cupcakes theyve played this year, and marshall isnt exactly a cupcake.
Good post, agree 100%. I saw a really good team get up and coast their way in, it happens. Not a big deal and sure they will most likely lose a game they should not, most teams do. Like you said they are not robots. people who expect 110% every night on a basketball court are unrealistic.
