On a transition fast break with the ball in your control. and a clear path to the basket you don't try a backward pass to trailing teamate to "look unselfish,You take the the damn ball to the hole and put it in for two points that you earned. These "unselfish plays usually result in no points and a TO where as your two plus a foul is far more probable.SUball
 
It also depends whos gaurding you and whos trailing and where your at on the floor.

Thets say its Triche with the ball Fab Melo James Southerland or KJo right behind them and the enemies power forward will get a hand on the ball before it hits the backboard. Then you throw that ball back and its two points or by the time the opponents player turns around its a blocking foul and maybe and one.
 
I'm talking about transitioning into the paint and enough un covered floor in front of you that demands attention from the guy with the ball. Thats where I'm "at" At that point I don't care who is behind me . Thats the point. Take the ball to the hop and dispose of it through the net.
