If the coaches really wanted Sidwar they wouldn't have just given up. Maybe Sidwar proved to the coaches that we didn't want him..or just tipped the scales the other way...You either wanna play for Cuse or don't, We are movin on. Good luck.Very logical.
It could also be that the coaches [behind the scenes] pressed Sidwar to pull the trigger but he is slow rolling, or that the coaching staff thinks things aren't trending favorably for SU.
So they opt for a bird in the hand who has tools, instead of waiting and potentially missing out on Sidwar.
