Tournament committee, you ignorant sluts

Wichita State ran into a hot Kentucky team. That game was a real good game.

Did you watch the game? That team was far from overrated. They'd beat us by 30. UK played the game of their lives to win.

I am assuming it was sarcasm.

But the fact is that the greatest team of all time failed to even get to the Sweet 16. Doesn't matter how close the game was. Are you taking any solace in the fact that SU only lost by 2? Does it make losing to an 11 seed any easier? WSU, by very definition blew it big time and if it was Syracuse there would be screams of "overrated," "didn't deserve a 1" echoing all over the college basketball universe right now.

Wichita played well and lost we just sucked and nearly one against a mediocure at best Dayton team

They weren't bad, but they were overrated...cant ignore that, as you say.

Where else should the committee put the 2nd best team in the field?

We only lost one game all year by double digits, and that was on the road in the biggest home game in 30 years for Va...we don't lose by 30 to WSU ever

That was a 3-6 matchup masked as an 1-8 matchup. Early and Baker played well but Kentucky played them straight up and didn't pull any stallball crap a clear majority of teams would have. Wichita State had a good team but their look at me coach was really annoying and made rooting for them tough.

The committee had no choice but to give them a one, they ran into a team that talent wise is a lot better than a 8 seed, it happens.

Kentucky was a 7 or 8 seed but was going to be dangerous because of upside.

This year's seeding sucked. Too much concern about metrics instead of people watching games and ranking more like Vegas does in terms of odds to win it al. No one who watches basketball a lot would consider Kentucky to be worse than 28 other teams including St. Louis, Ohio St, and VCU- just to mention a few.

Seriously would more people here pick Nova over Kentucky but yet we insist that Nova deserves a better seed. This logic only hurts some of these higher seeds who get no benefit from being the favorite. I'd like to see the committee moved away from AD's and conference folks.

You want to talk about overrated talk about Lville, they barely got by manhattan, and they got an absolute gift getting to play against a bad st louis team. If Uk plays this well on friday they will beat Lville.

kentucky wasn't even ranked in the final ap top 25. that means wichita states best win was against st louis who was imo over rated at #25. WSU ate cupcakes all season long and then cried foul when the committee put some real meat on the table. and that's why i rooted against them today. suck it shockers!

Can't deny they played a soft sked, and were bloated as a result...they don't go unbeaten in the ACC. They aren't 1991 UNLV

I wouldn't reference the ACC as a top conference. They might not have anybody left by the time you go to bed tonight.

WS can play with anybody in the country. That should have been pretty obvious today.

Amen brother. You said it. UK an 8 seed and UMass a 6 seed. lol

People are acting like Wichita State is the first #1 seed in the history of the tournament to miss the Sweet 16. One friggin' loss doesn't mean they were overrated (or didn't earn a #1 seed). Frankly that attitude is a big part of what is broken in college basketball - everyone gets judged 110% based on what happens in three weeks in March. Everything else is as meaningful in the long run as a preseason game in August is in the NFL. It's idiotic.

How about Colorado as a 9 and Harvard a 12? If you watched those two teams after Dinwiddie's injury, you couldn't possibly believe that Colorado was a better team by that kind of margin. I know some of the rules force seeding teams one line above or below, but lately the seeds are off in big numbers.

This isn't about a team getting hot either- this is about a group of people having the time to watch teams on multiple occasions from November-March. No active AD has the time to do this.
