Transfer Targets 2026

I watch college basketball, and i watch Cinderella's come and go every year. From quick research their NIL was around 2M last year (WFAN’s Greg Gianotti says NIL era rewriting March Madness: ‘How is this possible?’). Perhaps they are just the smartest guys in the room and are finding analytical marvels who are willing to take pennies compared to their counter parts, or more likely, the system isn't perfect and it just happens that we like it because it paints us in a favorable light. With more data im sure itll better indicate whether we are actually building a good class.
Again the Evan Miya rankings is a snapshot in time, so it will change, but it's not outrageous that High Point was in the top 20 at the time to discount the value of it. They are one of the largest mid major players. They'll likely end up anywhere from 40-80.

They’re in the top 20 right now because they’ve gotten a 4 star and a 3 star.

I dont think its wrong to discount the value at all, not only for the high point anomaly but for how early it is as well. Im not saying its worthless, just that its early to start throwing around any ideas that this is a good or great transfer class. We have some bench peices from low conferences and maybe one borderline starter.

High Point is a player also because it’s one of the nicest campuses in the entire country. They have success an decent money at their level too so a lot to offer.

i mean sure but it would be naive to think they are actually competing dollar wise with power-5 programs (exluding the teams who have basically given up like BC)

Do you actually follow College Basketball? Because if you did, you would know that High Point is a very legit Mid Major with lots of resources, was in the tournament, and beat Wisconsin in the Tourney. Also gave Arkansas a run.
In addition, High Point is like a 5 star resort the way they pamper and support their students. Very unique college experience.

I've set up another tab on the spreadsheet that lists full game videos for anyone that wants to do deep dives on these guys. Currently have a few videos up for Tobiason, Dual, and Doty and am working on MMM.

Good news and bad news re: MMM, I think they maybe have every single one of his games online which is great for scouting but a crap ton of work to get his videos added lol. May have to just do a small selection 😄

I have a feeling the nil budget isn’t what people think it is. Doesn’t seem like we are in on any of the top players. Soon we will be rationalizing how our portal class is under rated and we have a team of diamonds in the rough.
Or we are being smart and not dropping everything we have on 1 or 2 players.

So top talent and ratings don’t matter. This is exactly what the football side was saying pre Fran brown. Really worked out great for them. Expect the same results because talent and rankings actually do matter. Building a team around the best Siena players and two freshmen who are projects isn’t a winning format.

well 2 sites currently have our portal class rated 8th and 9th.

My dear god let the roster finalize before you whine like this.

Yeah wait till the top players sign and then show me the rankings. There is no chance this current class ends anywhere near the top ten. It’s purely based on the size right now.
I just want to point out that you do your "negative nancy" well. Not a criticism, just to note that I read your posts and say that is a "negative nancy" And you very well might be right in all you are saying. I just like my orange kool-aid for now even if it might only be a dream.

I think it’s 12+ which would have been fine last year. The problem is the market increased by 2x for the top ~30 players. We probably don’t have enough to get one of those.
