Just read second time transfers were denied for two players. One at NC and the other at FSt. This would be both players second transfer while still undergraduates. I know a lot of people have different takes but I am glad the ncaa is enforcing the new rules. There waiver was evaluated and denied. I do not have a problem with transfers but there has to be rules to prevent unlimited transfers. Especially in the new world of nil.

The UNC one is pretty crappy if you read about it tbh. Harsh.

The NC player indicates that the rule changed two days after he transferred. However I believe the one transfer rule was already in place prior to him leaving Kent st. A second transfer still required a waiver. The ncaa just restricted the reasons for the waiver to be family or mental health issues. He was already at North Carolina central prior to going to Kent st. The fact Covid canceled their season did not change he was enrolled. He currently states he wants to be back home for his grandmother and it allows her to see him play. He was at nc central but chose to leave the state to enroll at Kent state. Does not state the reason he choose to transfer. I believe nc central played after the Covid year. He had a good year at kent st and now wants to transfer to nc a p5.
A questions I had was which NC school is closer to where his grandmother lives. If the reason for the transfer is to be closer to his grandmother did he seek to enroll in another state school closer to home or just a p5 program.
The main issues is that the ncaa has now attempted to prohibit complete free agency. This is a tremendous problem with nil. Players get one free opportunity to transfer without any penalty. If they choose to transfer a second time it is their right. They can file their appeal receive review and a decision is made. If they are denied they are still at the school close to their family which is the reason for their appeal. The only thing is they have to sit out a year. Now people will argue that it affects them going pro after the season. That may be true. However if the reason for the transfer was to be closer to family and not to increase nfl draft potential then that has been accomplished. The player still gets to go to school and be closer to family.
A lot of people will have different opinions on this issue. This is mine. I just feel there has to be some rules and they need to be enforced.

  1. Everyone does not get NIL. It's the most overblown thing I see on this board.
  2. No one should be denied a transfer. You get one free transfer and if you choose to transfer again, you lose a year of eligibility.

It is true that not everyone gets nil. However with highly rated transfers the possibility of nil is highly likely. That’s why second transfer’s definitely needs to be enforced.
