Trebor Pena transferring to PSU

I’m a little slow on the intake but I thought all this started because he had a better deal that he found to be satisfactory.

If Pena is still shopping around, does that mean:

1. The offer from the other school wasn’t really a valid offer, or
2. He is willing to break his informal (but valid) agreement with the other school for more money?

Re: Miami.

Beck is a mid qb. Also he transferred to be with his girlfriend, then proceeded to (allegedly) cheat on her within a month of being there. Sure personal life, but I don’t believe he’s going to work there.

Now compare that sort of stuff to how locked in Peña’s old QB in McCord was… yeah.

TBH there are a LOT of parallels between McCord coming here and Beck going to Miami. I don't think Beck will be better than 2024 Kyle McCord next year but the similarities are there.

Especially ignoring the girlfriend part which seems unnecessary to throw in there.

My cousin went to Penn State (yes yes I know) and was talking to me about it.

He said they're pretty loaded at that position and thinks Treb would be WR2 or WR3 and would have to work for it. He was also disappointed that Franklin appears willing to snipe like that.

Anyway it just did not sound like a $2M offer situation at all. I assume (hope?) PSU is a backup plan for him. If we dropped our offer then maybe he needs something to counter the ostensible one from Miami.

Truly wonder where some of these kids are getting their advice from.

fair enough. There are more stories out there, and they aren’t pretty. Meanwhile compare that to McCord actual dedication to football I believe it can say a lot. Guess it was fine for Manziel in college.

Kids do stupid things, but in the age of NIL I believe if you are being paid that much you are now an employee but eh.

Just because there are stories out there doesn't mean they are true. Especially if they're coming from disgruntled Georgia fans.

it doesn’t. But some of it there are receipts, bro should rly consider deleting snapchat.

Imagine being a former player and current SU law student and your side hustle is helping star players leave the program.

I think that is key. In grad school I parked in west lot (now RAY) for a year. At least at the time it was mostly law students that parked there. Over that year my pretty decent car got like half a dozen dents (the kind from people carelessly swinging open doors), and I got sandwiched in by illegal parked cars once or twice. I've never experienced anything like before or since and I've lived/parked in an urban environment for like two decades.

I'm obviously not talking about all the students here, but I think it's a pretty good metaphor; I think there's a self-absorbed gene that gets released in some kids while they're in law school. From the limited information we have, this situation would seem to fit that.

Beck himself said he doesn’t watch football in his spare time and it was strictly just film sessions. He and McCord are not the same.

Take it for what it is worth but this is what I just heard about Pena at PSU and what he has been saying… “…if Pena expects 2 million from PSU, he won’t get it! Pena leaving SU as lost faith in new QB & Offense! ”

I call BS on Pena

Of course the offense won't throw 45-50 times/game with Collins. He can run well. I expect a lot more running plays.

No team will throw to him like McCord last year. I fully expect a more balance offense this year which is good. IMO, Pena and his Agent made a big mistake as he could have been the featured WR here and now will be just another option and if PSU is his destination, then yes, blocking for their star RB will be it.

Guy is dead to me
